err....I suggest do NOTHING.... by adding new and additional skimmer, carbon, phosphare remover, etc, you will create a 'New' unbalance tank again, which meant your coral and LS will have to adapt to the new condition. With your absence, don't think you want to create such New environment. Just behave as per normal, and control the feeding, and ask your family to make sure all equipment are running properly and look out for some symptoms if necessary...... maybe just wash the skimmer, will do. I've been away 3-4 days or more frequently ...and so far, everythings just go fine....(touch wood!)

oh...I see a potential partner for my current one! joke aside...do you think that by having a eating IM in your tank, she will led any newly introduced IM to eat? btw, how big is your tank? I saw many of my favorite tangs in your tank...

my tank has a problem in keeping fish during the 1st 3 mths, after cycled. Ammonia and NO2 are 0, and NO3 at 12.5-25. Fishes just died after 1 week+ in the tank. Change water at 30-50% weekly also no used....the last thing I did before fish can survived inside are the adding of carbon. I also have Macro skimmer running. Let the tank mature on itself is better, I suspect could be some Ammonia surge during night, etc....

Hi..sorrie to hear the bad news.... Your tank has quite a number of fishes, and the white ich outbreak looks 'serious' too.....better try to control them fast.... btw, the death of the fished shouldn't be due to the ick...could be the noise of the Drilling that frighten and stressed them, therefore some died and some stressed and kana ick.....the dust, probably wouldn't pollute the tank much...but maybe you want to change some water, just to be on the safe side.

Can you explain what is 'quite impressive'? I've seen the display tank many times, and still can't figure out what is the impressive part....maybe it's the rate of coral replacement that is impressive... (Not intend to create problem....but just dunno how to appreciate...) -
My PBT and MI are from Txx.......saw 3 MI in the form box....wanted to buy all....but managed to make myself just take one..... Got serious white spot on Day 1 (Sat)....yesterday lesser, and today looks ok already.. I feed forzen mysis shrimp, market prawn (soak with galic juice)for last 2 days, but didn't see the PBT and MI eating..... Today mixed in some cyclopeze, and the PBT start to go after the forzen mysis shrimp and market prawn. MI have tried eating but throw out too. also put in some seaweed, hopefully, they will eat it.

You made a mistake by pouring your baking soda into your tank (just like me previously!)? anyway, nothing went wrong in my tank. I just do some change water, and let it slowly reduce by itself. btw, check your calcium level, it should be at a quite low level now, and will need to be top up.

Hi, I stay in Ang Mo Kio, and I just took a measurement on my tap water pH, the reading is 9. check my pH tester with other solutions (neutral solution, solution in my Calcium reactor, my marine tank, and freshwater tank) all the reading are normal. anyone experience/notice this suddent increse in pH?

Done... and AT will send you a bill for using his bandwidth. -
I saw 3 in the LFS and decided to buy 1 home....was thinking to get all 3, but my tank definitely too small. Wat 'force' me to buy was bec they are all in those white form box! so, hoping that I could get them survived. If I dun try to get them home, I think they will definitely be gone in the farm.

I'm using the formula two pellet. so far, only my clowns are eating them. my newly bought PBT and Moorish are not interested in the pellet. They tried the frozen mysis shrimp and market prawn, but throw them out.....thinking of getting seaweed and cyclopeze tomorrow... I'm more stressed than the fish now!
-
Do you just feed the pellets, or you conducted some 'training' for them to take pellets?
-
Hi...thanks for the info. The seaweed is the type from LFS, right? this is not the NTUC type as featured by AT in the earlier thread. I got one yesterday...and it is pecking at my LR.....tried feeding frozen mysis shrimp and market prawn...he chewed and split out. will try seaweed tomorrow. Another problem I faced is it looks like kanna ich...as can see some white spot on the body....yesterday was more, today lesser...dunno it is ich or just stress.

PR (paradiz reef) has some blue tang...small and medium size.
