anemone move to a 'undesirable' place
nutx replied to heman's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
my suggestion is to increase the flow toward the back of your tank, and reduce the current in the front part of your tank, then the anemone will shift out. and the lights cannot be too strong, if you are using MH. Anemone do not like too high water flow. and usually when we setup our tank, we will always tend to have a 'visual' higher water flow in the front part of the tank. -
just thinking why your tank is still not declared as a war zone yet? so many tangs inside? some more all abt same shape, like the powder series...

nutx replied to Mellow's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
you may want to lower the water level of your tank, and try silicon back the brace. the silicon will be cured in 8-12hrs...and it will helps to release some stress on the glass. -
I tho u post this question in one of the other thread, and somebody recommend u to got for 10inches?

how would he know whether the fish is cyanio or net caught? I think any people with a sound mind, will not tell the buyer, "Hey my fish is cyanio caught..will die 2 weeks later!" same for his supplier!

Week 28th June to 4th July 2004
nutx replied to Regal's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
This one has been there for sometimes leow...except that last time, it was placed deep inside the display tank....and not open so big yet! signz....cannot afford it! -
in term of function, it is perfectly all right. One main reason why there is a glass panel is bec if the pipe breaks, the glass level control the water level in your tank. without the glass, whole tank is drained out. 2nd, in reef tank, you have to be careful not to have any rock lean against the pipe, else u are asking for a flood! 3rd, with sand on the base, the fine sand will eventually wear out the silicon joint for the piping, and create a leaking....also, if there is a leak at the joint, you can't repair it, unless you clear your whole tank.

ya..by then the MH rusted leow... upz...for the sales!

Your water level is so high up in the neck of the collection cup? wouldn't the skimmate be very liquid?

bubble_gum, with so many reading on others setup, I suggest you plan your equipment first, before getting the tank, so that the tank and sump can be alter accordingly, like height of stand must be able to fit in Skimmer, if skimmer is in sump type. sump must have the relevant partition, if you intend to have refugim, UV lights, to remove micro bubbles from skimmer return. Sump must drill holes if intend to use dry pump (eheim also can run dry). Tank hood can hold the MH u intend to get (whether is commercial type or DIY type., etc....

Yup, the 1/3hp. The recommended flow is 2000-3000l/hr according to the manufacturer...and my connection is from sump to chiller to main tank, with chiller at 1.5ft height and main tank return at abt 2m height....so if I use other pump, the head loss will be quite a lot, consider the flow thru the coil, etc. hmmm...still thinking and considering.
