  1. Cheapest i think is iwarna. The rest, slightly higher price. Mixed comment on quality of the seawater. Think you got to try out yourself and determine which is more worth. All the best.
  2. think you must be confused. I believe right now you are anxious to get everything done up and if budget is not an issue, you will pay more to just get one person to plan everything for you and thereafter enjoy the joy of reefing. I suggest you go for few more trustworthy shops and see how comfortable you are with them. Opinions here may be biased. Hence, seeing is believing. Give yourself a chance to see more options. As what many snrs here have advised, good after sale services and resale value of equipment are important. Ballpark figure is not conclusive as you can't do apple to apple comparison. In the first place, it is already not easy. Just take it like buying proton vs BMW. A 20K quote cannot be used to compare with a 30K quote if the 30K quote includes top notch items. I understand to get a deltec tank can easily be 5 digit amount where as getting it made locally is just less than 5K(if you are not asking crystal panel). I think in all business, you cant have all happy customers. There bound to have some bad experience encountered. The question is how best they try to resolve. In the forum, there is always supporters for certain shop and their experience will be "wonderful". Hence, if ppl share their bad encountered, they may be "bombed" left and right. So is through personal sharing that one gets to know more insight stories. All the best in your search and yell if you need help. here got many wonderful bros and sis. hehe. (just my limited knowledge and sharing my personal opinion)
  3. SL got flame angel, potter, mata tang, kole tang, powder brown tang....one big sohal....and may one hybrid blackie or is it just brown tang.....regal tang, etc....
  4. Bro, maybe you want to go reefdepot's website to see the type of valve available......As suggested by bro loster, one return pump for main return and one pump for chiller...so you will have 2 returns to your tank.

    Chaeto FOC

thanks thanks everyone. Will approach you when time comes. : )
  6. Hi Bro, i will suggest you just get the ID to inform you space available and type of formica or finishing on the cabinet. This can be then communicated to your tank maker. Understand your anxiety. All the best.

    Chaeto FOC

Wow. Bro Fuzzy, any preferred collection timing? Glad to see so many helpful bros out there giving chaetos for free. Upz for you all. : )
  8. Bro, by using t-off, it will reduce the flow. Is your pump 1264? Not an expert in this but concern whether it can support both return and chiller. Also, you may want to consider buying those detachable valve for maintenance purpose. You will need to clean your pump once a while and if everything is fixed....you may have problem...especially in time of emergency. Just my personal opinion. Just take it as reference. All the best.
  9. yellow, brown, purple, etc tang do peck on algae. The more hardworking one will be kole, chevron, etc. The useless tang i find is regal or blue tang...lol...eat alot...the most agressive tang will be sohal and AT.....and ich magnet tang wil be powder series tangs, blue and AT ....that is my limited knowledge. When you introduce tang....think you have to consider whether you want to keep ich magnet tang and start from less agressive tang....hope it helps.

    Chaeto FOC

bro, very kind of you to pass ppl chaeto. Upz for you. If possible, will want to collect some from you if still got left. Thanks.
  11. both my jebo and H & H have that. The H & H is from OTF and just close to a year....bought it in mar 08. Anyway, you can try to ask the person who is selling his ehiem to confirm whether it meets your budget. Also, check their website to understand more. All the best.
  12. it is something similar to those cheap device where you do some pumping and water will flow out from tank using gravity concept. Once air enters, you will need to restart the pumping action again. Hope i can bring the message across to you. : )
  13. used to run canister filter before i upgraded. I think if you are not running chiller, the flow rate is less critical. Nevertheless, you need to get one that is effective. Also bear in mind that the more the flow rate, the more the exchange(which is good). Budget and optimal effectiveness will come into picture. Running on canister, you will need to constantly wash the wool and you can put in carbon and bio-balls, etc in the canister. The newer canister will allow you to "lock" the water in the tubes so that you dont have to take additional step to ensure water flows into the tubes to create the cycle(water sucked in and pump out in another point) and ease the maintenance of the canister(in washing the wool, etc). Think my H & H is from taiwan and the flow rate is 600l. For the jebo, think is 3000l. Things to lookout is leak. Ehiem is good and reliable because their pump, etc are good. However, leaking may still be encountered. Hence, replacement of o ring or any rubber seal is necessary. Go to pasir ris farm, tropical land or OTF, you will know the price difference. That is my limited knowledge and may be wrong. Open to any correction from snr reefers. All the best in your search. In this hobby, no easy way out.....you need to put in effort to ensure your livestocks are healthy. : )
  14. you may have to do it weekly..... someone selling ehiem canister....in another site.....you can try yr luck. i have a jebao canister.......and another 600l H & H(taiwan) canister. Very new. Selling less than 50. Can view without obligation. Ehiem is durable. Whichever canister you choose....you have to constantly clean it to ensure it is not a NO2/3 bomb.
  15. if you use canister filter, you may need to be hardworking enough to clean it regularly so that it is not a NO time bomb.
  16. errr... suggestion as in? I suppose you have a skimmer to "cleanse" the water. If not, you can consider one.
  17. henry from marine life and iwarna also provide such service. Bro, if you intend to set up a 4ft tank. Just inform your ID on the dimension and cater the space for the tank. The shops mentioned do help ppl to customise cabinet, etc. For RD, the higher price is due to quality equipment from europe. Their after sales service is one of the best around. There are other commercial makers....yonghua and han teck, etc. Their contact can be found here or arowana forum....all the best.
  18. bro, those commercial garlic solution sold in shops are usually concentrated extract. So if you want, maybe you can buy a lot and extract their juice...hehe. I may be wrong. For itch, some will advice to go for hypo .......using garlic is to beef up fishes immunity but when there is outbreak...it might be too late unless your fishes still eat and pray hard the fight against that. Some will advice using UV. At the moment, dont add fishes...let tank settle down...hopefully your fish can win the battle against ich...
  19. where u got it..didnt the shop advice u.....here got a few got bk sm....think good for them to buy....all the best.
  20. went JL AM, dont have neon. Me might be goiing to lck...u want to come...hehehe...think selection is important to ensure they pair up...
  21. ya....it is always demand and supply. Anyway, fire shrimp at reborn rather small. But to me...think it is better than peppermint. Vowed not to get any peppermint leh. Haven see it work for my aiptisia already a food source for my fishes....sighz. Lol.
