  3. let's the newbies decide. No right or wrong. The general price guide is there, whether reasonable or not, buyer decides. It's open market. Not point debating on this. Maybe good to start a thread to debate this and not dilute the initiator's intention.
  4. Think those exotic fishes, let those exotic keepers go do more research and it is not so common. This is for the beginner but if as a beginner looking for exotic fishes, then I believe they would have done enough studies and able to differentiate. Yes, many factors do contribute to price and that include their business ethic, profit margin, etc. Export charge, etc can contribute to high price but locally breed stock doesn't seem cheap at times. No pt arguing which shop sells at premium and which shop sells cheap for particular stock, it is a price guide for newbie and for newbie if they choose to go to shops that sell cheap but with high fatality rate, I think they will switch to other shop. This is for reference.
  5. no problem. We are here to learn and share. Just share knowledge. This can serve as a guide only for some lfses which are subjected to shipment cost, etc. There was this saying ban on redsea shipment and price for purple tang went up x2. Now price for pt has stablised at less than 6 red notes. Lfses have lots reasons for premium pricing and it is up to reefers to decide to accept them. Anyway, this thread is for price and knowlegde sharing and not use to spoil any shop reputation.

Let me think . .
  7. it is definitely not easy but with everyone's contribution, i believe it is still possible. For corals, it may be harder as but it can still serve a general guide - for example, a normal green prata can be below $50 and premium one can cost above $100. It serves as a general price range for newbie to refer and also let them understand the difference for particular livestock. Not too sure whether shop's name should be mentioned but if it is standard throughout the year and to all customer, i guess it should not be a secret. I think the forum is to serve reefers. Maybe GoofFish may need to consolidate the list again. Thumbs up for your effort and bro oddball already provided insight info. Happy Reefing.

  18. Bro, we are all here learning and exchange pointers. In general, there are recommended guideline where most reefers experienced success but there are reefers who don't follow and succeed also. There is always 2 school of thoughts and i am seen to differ from most when come to fishes. However, i do agree there will be a saturation point. For your clown, it should be brook. which seems common. Not sure whether it is due to the fish or your tank. I personally experience this when i first started. If the clown is in the farm or shop for more than a week, it is rather safe to buy but if after gotten and kena, it will be your tank, not mature enough. If it is new and you just buy back, usually the symptom will come 2 to 3 days after you got them. Happy exploring. Just control and be patience, passion at time will cause more sorrow if your beloved fish died because of some "irrational" act...and you will have heavy heart for days...... Good Day and welcome to this never ending hobby.
