  1. 1k for whole setup including tank? If yes, will be very tight. For yr proposed dimension, pump can be 2400 to 3000 and depends whether you going for 2 returns. Reliablilitjy, ehiem is recommended(second hand 1260 to 1262 should be below 100) but rather high power consumption conpared to aquabee. Nowadays, more choices. Pls note for pump, there is pressurized bs non pressured, in sump and out sump or both type. For chiller, u can go 1/5 to 1/4, later bring more powerful. Skimmer, really depends on yr choice but suggest u go for slight over kill, ranging from 400 l to 850 l, note there are 2 readings, heavy stock vs normal stock. For quality vs price, it is really subjective and depends on yr beliefs. Some started with those cheaper equipment and then upgrade when becoming more pro while others started all high end and cannot last in this hobby and decomm. U know yr self best, committed and perservence or short life span on hobbies. Hope my advice makes sense to u.
  2. Thks Kiko for the elaboration. Tank setup, plenty but difference will be their quality, price, workmanship, planning in setup and after-sales. There are always good and bad reviews so go round and see yrself unless u fully trusted forum reviews or shop selling tactics. Some big names may seem reputable but knowing further may not worth a try while small players may be risky to try. The technologies have improved, hence big name may not be 100 percent good, vice versa. It's is like buying watch, rolex vs casio. Both tell u the time but one got more x-factors. So it depends on the depth of yr wallet and willingness to spend. Certain technologies are at it's infant or pioneering stage, hence do more researches before going in, don't just blindly follow trend. General queries will only get full spectrum answers from all kind snrs here but it is understandable for newbies. Gather more info, depending on yr learning method, via reading or talk to ppl & shop visiting. Just my 2 cents worth opinion. No offense. Good day and luck.
  3. list down yr constraints like vitamin M, etc and priorities like support, energy consumption, etc, then ppl can help. All the best.
  4. LCK Ora shipment in. RARE rare rare, all quite unique, so if u buy, maybe the only one in whole world to own it. Anyway, back to serious, the clowns look unique and some prices are affordable.
  5. Is a good proven cr with less chokage.
  6. Bro, u can use iodine, kw solution or Joe juice and use syringe to inject direct to the mouth and thr the "throat". The first 2 if not done properly might kill coral. For Joe Juice, it claims reef safe. Alternatively, scrap them using off using pen knife(must take out of tank to do it) etc. This method works for those u can reach. For those u cannot reach, got to use live stock like confirmed copper band butterfly, peppermint shrimp, file fish, etc but effectiveness depends cos once they feed on fish food etc, they might not perform as intended.
  7. If all put together, there is a chance. However, future, unlikely to act more clown fishes. It's a hobby, don't quarel over it. Enjoy it together. Ask him to visit forum and read more. If he choose not to, then will have to learn thr hard ways. Good days.
  8. May have delay for the Ora shipment. Better to call and chk beforehand.
  9. for skimmer, set your criteria and then go sourcing. The brands mentioned are proven to be effective. To me, the cone design has cooled down quite a bit and if you observed the trend.....low power consumption with high volume flow pump being used, internal cone, bubble plate...are common in all brands....especially bubble plate. For the old deltec, they use ehiem....a very reliable brand but trade off high power consumption. The next brand that ppl go for is aquabee but maybe too many users and thus higher chance of failure......those reputable brands then all use aquabee....now other brands are coming out their own pump.....the body design remain much the same....hence it will take some time to guage the reliability of the pump. Thus, do note after sales service..i think is one important factor in this hobby.
  10. those wanting to get golden angel can standby this week....subject to confirmation....hawaii shipment also coming.....hopefully all will come as scheduled....
  11. haha, that means i am always doing the wrong thing......lol
  12. nice to know you got your fish. Advice to all is ask in future whether the water the shop used to pack your fish can be poured into your tank directly.
  13. no worries. catch your tease anyway. hehe.
  14. IMHO, it is the same. The setup will ensure surface skimmer(with good flow). Given a chance, it is good to have sump. For canister filter, you have to be hardworking to do frequent maintenance. Hope this help.
