  1. Bro, after seeing your small tank, i recommend you to plan properly what livestock to keep. Blue damsel is a general name, lol, meannig blue in colour. For mine, it is mostly black with metalic blue strip and white bar. Maybe you want to go farm this coming saturday morning. I went last saturday with sunny 03. Just went there to browse around. My main and quarantine tank...flooded....so must becareful in adding stock. For your tank, the cycling process might take shorter process. As mentioned, i will recommend you to add invert. Maybe one scarlet hermit, small little hermit with red legs. For starfish, you can also add but be warned that certain colour starfish is not reef safe. Think last week iwarna came a few. Seldom see them at pasir ris but coral farm at LCK does have them quite often. Maybe u also add a small cleaner shrimp. For established fish, they can tolerate "poorer" water condition as those newly purchased from shop. For your tank, you can also buy seawater, one pack will do and it will definitely speed up your cycling process. For the fish, dont worry lar. It is still my fish but just offering you whether you want to adopt it. Maybe you can come take a look and after all the farm visits, then decide. Dont want you to get my fish and then cannot buy other fishes that you like. Hehehe. For the chaeto, should be able to spare you some also. Next week saturday, likely to go also. For your info. Happy reefing. Cheers.
  2. Bro Ultra, yours is a nice hawai. cleaner right. True, not easy to keep. So far i got one and managed to keep to alive and feeding on live and frozen brine shrimp. Nevertheless, it has not lost its nature in cleaning the fishes in the tank. Maybe just my luck but what i did is to select one that is bold and go round inspecting fish one. Know i reefer who successfully trained the cleaner to eat veggie(seaweed, etc) and keeping it alive also. All the best. : )
  3. Is a device which uses UV light to kill bacteria(good and bad) in the water. I will suggest you dont add any more fishes until all yr fishes are stabilised. U also need to observe the procedure in introducing new fishes to minimise the stress level and survive rate. All the best. (pls try as i know u are overwhelmed by hoping to own nice fishes....think many of us have this problem... hehe....but just think owning them but failed to keep them alive....u will be sadden and money will be wasted and a precious live wasted).
  4. RD should have some and they are big one. Hopefully still got. Call to enquire first. All the best.
  5. Thanks Bro. Upz for your sales. : )
  6. up for yr fish. really rare to see this small and cute goby. also up for yr intense pink yuma. all the best.
  7. No lar but yr post was first mah....so when i kpo to provide some suggestion, your post will not appear in the main page...so must post something in your thread to make it appear. hehe. Anyway, i think someone has advised me on the maker. Will pm you but me never try before..think i must put a clause to relieve me from all responsibility for wrongful quote....wahahahaha... anyway, acrylic material is prompt to scatch....so u got a way to overcome? if yes, tell me...lol...me planning for tank but still doing research...hehe.
  8. Bro, maybe you can post your tank photo and get ppl to suggest what skimmer to put. Some external skimmer very small, should be okay for your tank. Anyway, enjoy. : )
  9. Do a partial water change if you cant stand the smell. If you can tahan...i will suggest u get a skimmer to "clean the water". Best is to use both...water change and skimmer. For marine setup, always good to have skimmer. Learned my lesson...previously suggested to a newbie like me to process the live rock which will kill those critter, and live bacteria....anyway, some ppl do kill live rock to ensure no parasite and slowly cultivate them to live rock again. Anyway, take my suggestion as reference as i might be wrong again....wahahaha... open to correction. .....failure is mother of all success....lol
  10. Do a partial water change and do you have a skimmer?
  11. Waiting to see your new tank. U got it from your flavour shop, AM, hehehe.
  12. Think read somewhere that it can be purchased at Reef Depot. Just call and check. If wrong, dont blame me....lol...
  13. err...another one that u might want to consider is KH(10to 12?).... for calcium, if you are using CR, u better check your pH level. If you are using dosing....then u must control. Need correction from snr reefers as i am learning also. : )
  14. if they are the only fishes, then unlikely. Freshly introduced fishes to tank with existing fishes may behave this way, some went hiding, got chased around or roam around to explore. U have to monitor, if the fishes started to develop white spot or white coat....it is not a good sigh. Watch their breathing to ensure it is normal. Watch their mouth to ensure no development of abrasion like wound....all these will contribute to their dead. Worst is they already got poison and will just die after few days..... For me, i checked with many ppl and LFS, cant get conclusive reason why my clowns will die. General conclusion is i am nemesis for clown, i unlucky, new tank sickness, bacteria infested, shortage of elements in the water for the clown, source of fishes, poisoned, etc. Wanted to keep paired clown, they are cute....lol... U can try to increase the water circulation which will also improve the oxygen level. 30 degree may still be acceptable. However, i understand clown is supposed to be hardy but due to proper transportation, it stressed them and caued their death. As mentione, i got a maroon clown with me from the start...gone thr instant environmental change, whacked by other big fishes, etc and still surviving. Just keep a close lookout. Me also limited experience. Hope my limited knowledge help you to understand what i have gone thr. All the best.
  15. Apart from this, do keep a close look at your clown Swimming at the top doesnt seem good but it may be caused by fresh introduction. Sighz...me not expert in clown....am a clown killer....doesnt seem to be able to keep one....except my commando maroon clowns. Nevertheless, based on my experience from those clowns that died in my hand...swimming and breathing fast on the water surface is not encouraged. Anyway, if they develop white coating, you can choose to leave as it is and change water or quarantine them and use medication(Usually will kill them faster but maybe i didnt get the procedure right.) All the best for you and hope you succeed. : ) quote name='beebeefl' date='Jul 2 2008, 01:49 PM' post='747863'] Some reasons based on my opininon 1) Not all anemone will appleal to crown fish.try to get those anemone that has long tentacles. 2) Does your tank host a big bully. this may thratens or retricts the clown fish behaviour 3) is your water temperature 30 degrees cel. 4) Sometimes it may take more than 1 week for them to settle down
  16. Thanks Bro Thexder for your valuable advice. Agrees with you. Me 2, has to stretch my hand to touch the base. Hopefully my arms dont grow shorter...lol....when first started, gotten body aches all over after the scaping. Lol.... Will consider this but just worry the depth is too short for the fishes.....wanted them to be happy also....nevertheless, will take note. Thanks for your attention. Regards.
  17. Hi Bro VT, just to check do your blennies disturb the zoos? wanted to get blenny but my friend told me they might be sand dropper. Hence, didnt dare to try. Any recommendation for blenny? - 2 tone, midas, algae, etc. Midas is nice but seldom see in LFS. common one is the 2 tone, algae, black blennies. Also, in keeping blenny, must one have thick sand bed? Understand some will like to dig a hole and might cause landscape to collapse. Thanks for your advice. Thanks.
  18. Thanks. Appreciated your reply and advice. Will pm you. So far, for a 3 ft tank...DIY quote is slightly above 1k with chengai wood cabinet, sump and tank. plus piping, should be around $1.3. For integrator, the charge i gather is around $2.5k. Agree with you. Trying to get quote from various reliable makers. Hasnt go to iwarna, ML, AM, geo-aquatic. Reef system is new to me. Thanks.
