  1. Bro, Yes you can but do it slowly. Drastic change might stress yuma. IMO, yuma seems to be harder to keep than normal mushroom. They at times really take a lengthy period to settle down and start to show their beauty....hehe....the choice is yours....lol...do post yr test result so that we can learn also...hehe.
  2. woww....is it purple....nice nice......
  3. Hi Bro, newbie here also. Yr mushy looks ok. It should be ok as long as it doesnt melt....hehehe. Being a starter and you start off with yuma...hehehe.... me dont dare to keep yuma...hehe....only colour mushrooms for me...hehe.... Try to monitor it, sometime, they need more time to settle down and open up nice nice....hehe. All the best. : )
  4. Hi Bro, not problem lar. If you are keeping mostly LPS, i think CR is not necessary and you can maintain the CR in your tank by manual dose or using dosing pump. If you are keep SPS or hard coral, yes, CR is required and you need other equipment to ensure the stability of your water parameter. For SPS, you need to have strong flow, hence wave maker is required. Me planning for a tank. Mind me asking whether you tank is newly made or from someone. If newly made, mind sharing who is the making and how much. Do search and understand what are the good to have features for your tank, it will prevent disaster and aids in water change, etc. Anything, just post, i think snr reefers will be glad to teach you. Must foster stronger bond among reefers....hehe.
  5. Bro, me not expert. Currently own a 2 x 2 x 2 with sump. Do search thr the members' tank spec and look through their progressin setup. It will help. By the way, you got the tank? Planning is required in the setup. Anyway, yes, with your tank with sump, it will be your mechanical filter system. You do need a skimmer(some ppl use dont use skimmer and adopted other setup to perform the same manner as a skimmer). Came to know a reefer who dont use skimmer and kept SPS for 2 years. Chiller is a yes if you are keeping coral. It will set and monitor your water temperature. Lighting is required for your coral to grow and enhance the colour of fishes when viewed. MH or High output T5 with different colours. Rock -artificial, live or dead rock for scaping. Sand/shell is subjective. FR to reduce algae problem. CR - inject calcium into the water but this can also be achieved thr dosage pump or manual dosing. If u keep SPS and require stable water condition, do look into add on chamber, pH controller and CO2 with solenoid valve. Ozoniser - Help to introduce 03 and enhance the skimmer function but practice care when using the equipment as the gas is harmful. UV - kill parasites(good and bad) Wave Maker - Create circulation Deniltrator - reduce NO level DI/RO - provide distilled water and can measure the leveth TDS Monitoring tools - pH monitor, ORP controller or monitor, refractometer(measure SG), test kits to test water, etc Additives and food. Salt, auto - food temper, auto - top up, etc. For certain equipment, it might not be necessary. Hope this help.
  6. haha....so now i know who will stock the most....and when price drop...who has to lelong tonga rock....lol... by the time u go farm, they are likely to know his and price might rise .....lol....
  7. Hehe. Doubt i will touch on anemone anymore...lol....so have to discuss with my maroons to get them to accept and reward them with good food. Lol.
  8. Thanks for the info. Regards.
  9. Do keep us posted. Zoas seem to be popular with Sis Ming's show tank. hehe. hopefully shops bring in more nice zoas but at affordable price. Then everyone buy and share to own MNZG Multi National Zoas Garden. Lol.
  10. Good Owner. Hehe. Me 2, cant bear to sell my paired maroon and kept them in a small quarantine tank. Think same case as you as you got 3 cute clowns in your main tank. I got one and will stock up to be the fantastic 4. lol. Hehehe.
  11. Hi Bro, If you are keeping coral, do keep the water temperature below 30, 28 to 29(subject to the coral...lol). With your small tank, suggest u use fan but be prepared to face fast evaporation and frequent top up to ease your SG. For small tank, change in water parameter can take place very fast, hence one must be vigilant. Mushroom is a good choice as it is not that experience. Maybe you can get hairy mushroom for the clown. For anemone, you must do feeding at least once a week and it require light. Clown will love them. Hehe. However, if something happens to your anemone, it can contaminate yr water and killing all yr livestocks. Do becareful. For clownfish, there are a few type, from cheap($1) to expensive(hundreds). Hence, it is good to assess yr budget vs yr liking. Hope you dont fall in love with black clown at first sight...expensive to test your tank....lol. false percula should be ideal but they are commando....lol. If you want nice and hardy....maroon clown but not easy to get pair and hardly can mix with other clown. Can talk more if we visit the farm, if not, you can do some reading and search the forum. For shop, dont want to advertise or support any shop, i will go to the shops that i feel comfortable. For you, maybe can go farm, more variety. Hope this help. Hi Bro Beetle, hopefully can meet up and visit farm. Lol.
  12. Just keep your finger crossed and pray hard. Hehe. Try to feed a wide variety and hopefully it will like and learn to eat it. All the best. : )
  13. Swee Swee Swee. Can i take queue number 2. , pls...
  14. Hi Bro, from what i see, the small skimmer seems to be hang on type and doesnt really take up much space in yr tank. For Coral, think i will suggest to keep mushroom....you can have green, blue/purple, red, orange, etc. Hehe. I started with them and find them rather easy to keep. Maybe for a start, you can start with this as the cost is not that expensive as compared to other corals. Best wishes and do keep us posted on your tank when it is ready.
  15. Thanks for your concern. My flooded means my tanks got lots of fishes...and i keeping just zoas, mushrooms, rics, suns and LPS. For your tank, i will suggest to keep mushroom, nice colour and hardy. For Zoas, unless in small frag, if not, yr tank will be full also. Lol. No problem in keeping inverts as they are hardy also. Just need to be more caution in introducing shrimp as they get stress up easily and will die almost immediately .....infront of you....wahahaha...i learned .....bought 2 fire shrimps and both up the lorry....hehehe. Maybe this saturday, can buy one pack and we take turn to carry out from the farm lor. Hehehe. No problem lar, just give me a ring. Me just learning and sharing. i also gained from those snr reefers i met, without their experienced and valuable knowledge, i wont be able to provide my "opinion". Please use my suggestion as reference as i might be always right......but it is always good to be corrected by the snr to learn more. Hehehe. For this saturday, if going, will be going ard 7 plus or 8 am. Keep in touch. Cheers.
  16. Bro, small but neat tank. What do you intend to keep? I think shops do sell small skimmer, think i saw one and the name is like....cataract skimmer.....it should be above to fill your tank. For price wise, me not sure. The shop is at china town. I may be wrong as i didnt ask much, however, if you are interested, i can help you to ask them in my next visit. Nevertheless, you can check in your LFS visit. : )
  17. No problem. I may be wrong, so just wait and ask ard. I recently got a Daeil 1/4 from a snr reefer also. Just sent for servicing and check. So far, so good. Check thr the past review, some said artica has modified or enhanced from Daeil while others claimed it is the same. However, Daeil seems to consume much lesser energy than artica. Having said all these, what i gathered may not be 100 percent factual, hence still need ppl to correct. All the best in your search. Regards.
  18. Bro, think no one carry this anymore. Maybe there are still some shops that have this but need to get help from bros here to inform you. Think can only get from second hand market. Nevertheless, there are ppl who are able to service it. Hope this help. Regards.
  19. that is a tough one. If your tank is established...the good bacteria is likely to stick on the rock and multiply.....so as the bad....the UV does help in certain degree but not total elimination. For good bacteria dose, it will be good if you can go to ML to speak to Henry. Me level not up enough....wahahahaha..
  20. Looking for the above. If you have any, do pm me. Also, if you have nice zoa frag, do inform me. Thanks.
  21. Hi bro, think the price ranges from above 60 to just below 100. But generally, you should be able to get it around $80+/-. AT spotted at pasir farm....not sure still got or not...$180....very big...hehehe.. anyone saw nice true percula(no need those super special one)...and black clown? Know LCK still got but not sure how is the stock level..... Thanks inadvance. (hope i am not violating any rule in disclosing price as no shop name is quoted. If yes, please pardon me and remove the thread.)
