Weekly Update - 21th to 27th July 2008
Solo77 replied to Regal's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
that is a good blanket reason. My friend was lucky to get one recently for slightly more than a blue note. Believe some brothers here also gotten at a good price from the shop. Nevertheless, it is willing buyer and willing seller. Hence, cant comment much. Thanks. -
Just start a new thread. Spotted lots of black ocellaris clown at Coral Farm. This is nothing new to those who visited them these few weeks. The stock was in 3 weeks back. Ard 1 to 1.5 inche. All eating well. Think should be good news to those clown lovers, especially black clown lovers like me. Price wise, few red notes but less than a blue note.....and got 20% discount for buying 2 and above. All the best. : )

Collection at Sengkang. Has been with me since day one, commando damsel. Ard 1.5 inche. PM me if interested. No reservation, first come first serve basis. Cant bear to part it but it is terrorising my small QT tank(though no the king of the tank). Hopefully a new home will tame it down. For newbie, can try out but please adopt with intention to keep it alive and not using it to test your tank or feed other bigger fishes. I reserve the rights not to give. Thanks.

Thanks Bro. Up for your sales. : )

Think Ah Beng's shop, Pacific Reef, just posted their new arrival list. Think 2 spot is inside their list. All the best. -

Green wrasse can also be a terror. Nevertheless, when u introduce them together, they might not fight. Got a six line and managed to remove it from my main tank and put in my QT with my green wrasse and they live peacefully. Then shifted my green to main tank and introduce another yellow wrasse and my green wrasse killed my yellow wrasse, pissed. Then my six line went air bourne and killed herself.....now just gotten another yellow wrasse from henry(ML) which is 2 to 3 times the size of my green wrasse. Will ensure it is stable before i introduce into the main tank. However, based on my observation, green and yellow wrasse seem to do the patrolling in the morning and afternoon. Thereafter, they will retreat to rest......for six line....non stop....hehe... maybe u can buy one small six line but introduce this fish as the last fish.....my six line killed my black cap, 2 gammas and challenged my barletts.....noti but effective....too bad it report to heaven...was thinking to put her back in main tank..... bro, i suggest u do fresh water dip and idoine dip to your zoas, asap......if they got eggs...it will be nightmare.....buying the wrasse may not guarantee eradication of nudi......some might not eat also.....like human...some dont take veggie....lol..... All the best. Ya, ah beng is located at pasir ris(pacific reef or marine in the sponsor colum) and ML is at west coast(hong leong park), near clementi mrt station. : ) -
Bro, thanks for sharing. Have you gotten the maker yet? me also planning but yet to settle the maker but will need it end of this year or early next year. Yr setup sounds great. For your H, 2.5ft may pose some issues in tank maintenance but if you are tall with long arms, think it should be fine. I have gotten a 1/4 hp for my intended setup and either 851 pr 701 for the skimmer. The rest, will salvage from my existing setup. Can pm me the price and maker. Wanted to have more choice. Thanks.

Try Ah Beng, he seems to have constant supply...hehe....ML had some but when i went there, there were only a couple left. U can also try green and six line but they are more aggressive. Maybe buy smaller one. All the best. -

Cycling of Water - Need Help...

Sorry bro, dont have msm or skype.....me mountain tortise....lol.... I see. If he is a pioneer, his advice will be valuable. I believe you bought mostly damsel and one purple dotty huh. SG in layman is the "salt level" of the water. Yr setup seems to be like freshwater setup. Put more live rocks, your hang-on filter system should generate enough water flow. You might want to consider a skimmer. For my QT tank, i got live rocks that cover around 40% of the tank and provide enough hideout place for the fishes. I got a red sea prizm skimmer which i also double up as filter(put wool at the outflow area). Lastly, a lightset. If you are driving to the farm, a faster way is the buy new sea water. Put in the seawater, liverock and run the skimmer or filter for for 3 to 4weeks or more. Then start adding your LS. To test whether your tank is cycled and ready for livestock, refer to the past post. For anemone, it requires feeding at least once a week and lighting is importance. Anemone unlikely the reason unless it is dying or got blended..toxic will be released..then u need at 50% water change. Want to meet up at chinatown fish shop? -

Bro, I think you need to have some live rocks. Did you do proper aclimatisation to your livestock when they were being introduced into the tank? Have you cycled the tank and measured the SG level? You have upgraded, hence it seems like you did not cycle the setup to stablise the condition for livestock. Fishes that didnt go thr proper aclimatisation when introduced into the tank are likely to get stressed and die. Patience and basic knowledge in the fundamental are crucial. Your cousin knows anything abt marine? Maybe you can consult him or her. -
Bro, good start. Admire yr courage in keeping PBT. Do keep up the good work and update us on your progress. IMO, yr tank is for you to appreciate. As long the fishes are happy and the corals are healthy, i think u will be happy. : )
-
BRO, place the mushroom on a piece of rock, have light shine on it and with mild or no flow, it will slowly stick to the rock. All the best.
-
Bro, sad to hear but glad you have the never say die attitude. It is a blessing that there is no fire. Hope all your corals and livestock will do well and better. It is a lesson to all to protect their power sockets from water. All the best. : )
-
Think they belong to the same family that is vulnerable to white spot.....buying one AT can buy quite a lot PBT... AT is cute...hehehe
-
AT.....$$$$$......
-
Bro, it depends how deep is your pocket....hehe... U can buy one and if the selected one dont do the job or report heaven.....then you have to buy somemore....hehehe... I bought at least 6 to 7 and now left 2 commando pepper...wahaha....anyway, i keep fire, camel and cleaner...they can be predator.....moreover i got fishes and hermit crab .... all waiting when they change their shell.....sighz....that is life.... From my limited experience and understand, they do eat aptisia but whether they really do the job depend on your luck. Some ppl bought and they just feed on those food given to the fishes, etc. One more thing, they are rather shy and timid, hence, they will be hiding most of the time and come out at night when the light is switched off. If you got dangerous fishes....better watch out for them....likely to have problem seeing them if you tank is big....my friend threw in pepper shrimps but till today...he cant find a single one...wahahahaha....All the best.
-
hehe...i got 5...hehe....doing marine shrimp therapy everyday....wahahaha...why spend 49 for 30 minutes fish spa therapy....lol
-
ya, looks healthy and nice. Too bad, it is too bad for my tank, if not...will grab immediately. All the best. : )
-
Dont cry....feed your fishes first....until they cannot eat.....hehehe....lucky u dont have shrimp, if not, lagi worse.....they will hover ard .......All the best and hope your prata recovers. : )
