The LEDs need to buy from GHL. For the dimming T5, as long the ballast allows it, it can do the job. Was lucky to get one and i never dream i will go into this extend.....anyway, i am not the first in singapore...someone out there has a set also......you know who you are.....got influenced by him and if the system fails, i will not be the only person...wahaha....joking...definitely keeping my finger crossed and hope the system is good. Think the price is not very expensive and i think the parts are rather reasonable for german technology. As i said, equipment power is no use, i saw humble setup with nice tank. That is important. For me, i just want my fishes and livestocks to be happy. So just doing my part to minimise risk of failing ...

Profilux Controller, another option available.....main system lighting coming soon..... This is what the system can do... .. The latest microcontroller-regulated technology .. Easy to understand, menu-led operation .. Large blue-white display, illuminated switches .. All settings and data are permanently stored, so no loss of data during power outages .. Accurate clock with battery back-up .. Separate dimming of up to 8 lights, so that even light colour can be varied, e.g. for dawn and moonlight .. Gradual transition from winter to summer time: To avoid stressing the aquarium occupants, the change is spread over several days .. Cloud simulation: 4 independent, adjustable, random generators regulate the start, intensity, duration and speed of a cloud in this way a different cloud is created every time .. Storm simulation: Using the special aquarium LED flashlights from GHL you can create your own personal thunder storms .. Simulation of the phases of the moon .. Rainy days .. Wave and tide simulation: By directing controllable current pumps .. Programmable reminder texts, e.g. for the next filter maintenance .. Timer and dosage functions .. PC-connectable .. PIN-coded child-proofing .. Feeding pause: During feeding the pumps are turned down or switched off. .. Temperature control: Can be programmed for conventional heaters, substrate heating and cooling; Programmable night-time temperature/decrease; intelligent summer switching for optimal substrate heating; Temperature sensor included .. pH control: Upward and downward adjustment; automatic sensor calibration .. Therapeutic program: It is necessary to alter the water temperature when treating some fish diseases. ProfiLux Plus alters the temperature gradually. At the end of a preset period the temperature is returned to normal. .. Alarm: In the event of sensor failure or critical water parameters a visual and/or acoustic alarm is triggered.

Hi Sis Pauline, you are using the 2ft LED light i presume. As mentioned in my post, i have using it for its moonlight(blue). For the whitelight, i was thinking to just light up my tank when i rest my T5 lightsets. Think the best person to ask whether the light is enough or not is your corals. If your corals dont open nicely(water parameters measured and are good), this may hint your lighting is not sufficient. Personally, i still find T5 better. Maybe you should buy those FL or PL lightset. It also gives you the flexibility to choose different type of lights. Think it is cheaper than $95. However, bulb for not cheap though. From there, you will be able to tell the different. You should have gotten the 4ft one as it is basically 2 X 2ft. Anyway, someone selling in the second hand market. If you want to stick to LED, maybe can consider to buy second hand. Sorry if my advice sounds illogical or confusing as i myself is newbie. Still got lots to learn. If you stay near SK, i might have some light set for you to test lightings.

Will be using t5 first. Just got the MH to standby and just incase future got poisoned into SPS keeping.

Hi Bro Lemonlemon, they are kept in my quarantine tank. I think for big tanks like 2ft cube, etc, might not be easy. Hi Bro Ambystoma82, mind sharing the knowledge in identifying male vs female pistol shrimp? thanks.

other items.. sockets, timers, refractometer, temperature monitor, auto - feeder, glove, glass cleaner, etc. Hopefully newbies can use this to understand what are the equipments availabe in reefing. No all are required. Some are essential and some are good to have. Will post more items if i got time to take photo. Thanks to all bros & sisters who are willing to part their equipment to me. Started collecting since Jun 08.

Chillers: Bought and serviced them. Intend to use for new setup(main and backup) but now pending to sell cause might be going for compressor with drop-in coil or heat exchange. If going into this setup, will have a drop - in coil chiller as backup.

water tops, monitors & controllers. Sold off all controllers and monitors except for pinpoint pH monitor. Keeping to monitor main tank. Selling off the JBJ auto top up. Still thinking whether should sell the tunze osmolator or keep as spare. Got a new integrated controller, hence most items seem redundant. Lesson learned, think before you get anything but then, at times, when you missed the opportunity, chance is hard to come by.
