  4. think so...they do have constant supply.....they are cute fellow and less threatening to snail.....as compared to those electric blue hermit....they also have black white hermit and "electric orange" leg hermit....

  7. bro, starting a business? hehe. Usually will buy small items cos visit LFS almost everyweek. Small items like inverts, food(spectrum), kent marine stuff, mysis or brineshrimp, livestock like gobies, shrimp, seawater etc. Don't know whether it helps in your survey. All the best.
  8. that is very kind of you....we know it ....and appreciate your effort....hehe... LPS is in general soft coral.....SPS is usually refer to hard coral....those that need calcium and have bone or skeleton structure.....go visit henry and understand more from him....go see his livestock and display tank....mostly LPS...hehe....you want to see SPS .....go to pasir ris...get victor to bring you there to tour....lol.
  9. bro, goes with your heart. You must find it worthwhile and comfortable. The sourcing may take time but once confirmed...it will be fast.....but you need to cycle your tank before adding livestocks. patience is the key in reefing...not easy....at least to me ...lol
  10. if i remember correctly, he stays around defu lane...
  11. maybe a quick guide for you... tank depends on the sealant they use, thickness, bracing and type of glass. for the main support...if wood is chosen, chengai wood is one of the best .... lighting you need...MH - shimmering effect but generate lots of heat and high power consumption - 150, 250 and 400W(with different type....6K to 20K), T5 and LED Wavebox - good for LPS which will make them wave at you...wahaha. Wave maker - Create under water current, quite different from wavebox Skimmer - cleanse water FR - can be carbon or pho remover CR - calcium reactor - usually equip with pH controller, solenoid valve and CO2 tank KR - used with CR and as water top. Water top device Ozoniser - cleanse water - usually equip with ORP controller UV - kill good and bad bacterias in the water denitrater - reduce NO in water... pumps piping -GF most expensive but no essential, FIP, etc.... sump design - refugium, deep sand bed, algae scrubber, bioball, rock...etc chiller - standalone or drop in coil with compressor controller rock, sand with different grade or just bare bottem.... test kit.... supplement.... the list is not exhausted...lol. hope it didnt scare you. Lol. For the renovation, ya, for big ticket items...likely to buy from the big chain store...want the extended warranty....for small item..will go neighbour shop...got few...at queensway...outside nee soon camp...etc. For aircon, i will either go to hong tar or gain city which is giving 5 yrs warranty....confused as to the brand to choose....ops...maybe can pm to discuss on renovation....leave your thread clean on your setup....fyi...me also in the midst of doing setup....hehe. So can exchange points...
  12. both got normal version....i maybe wrong...think 2000 is more for FR....for skimmer and chiller return pump...think they usually use 2000i.....
  13. bro, think you need to amend your header...think ab 2000 using 18 w....2000i using more like around 38w?
  14. bro, you have to take the risk for new seawater. As i said, got lots of mixed feedback. You have to choose the best option which you feel comfortable......doesnt mean salt mix wont be contaminated....but maybe risk is much lower.
  15. you want fast knowledge, best is to meet up with someone and his tank....from there, you will know all the different equipment and their use.....lol. u want to invite us for kopi session....lol. Yes, if you are one which can absorb by reading....do a search and read .....everything got a start and learning curve....hence your question is likely to be asked before....for me...more hands on...hence...seeing is believing..... at least you are not impulsive to commit immediately...that is already a good start. Side track abit, Since you just got your house....any lobang for appliances? what aircon did you install....me going to start my house reno...now looking into aircon....lol
  16. think quote A seems better. The saving definitely can use to upgrade. What is the price of the tank, stand and sump, less all the equipment? For the wooden stand, what is the material? how thick is the glass and what glass they use?
  17. they sell per pack(plastic bag form) or you bring the jelly can container(sold by them) to collect. Per pack is around $1 to $2. Per container is $2 and above. If regular customer, may have discount. Hope this help.
  18. the tank. Help me send regards to raymus.
