  1. Hi, will be decomming my 2ft cube tank in 2 to 4 weeks time. The tank will come with MH(can't remember whether it is 150 or 250), DIY T5(2 tubes to 4 tubes), 2ft cube, piping(durso pipe), sump, cabinet, return pump(ehiem, dont know whether it is 1260 or 1262) and a pump for FR(atman i think). I do have a H & S skimmer(in sump for 850l type) and will let go if price is right, if too low, i will be keeping it as spare as i like its performance. Condition of the tank is about 7 to 8/10(depending on your expectation) as there are scratches. Tank should be 3 yrs old and using 10mm glass. Pm me if interested. Thanks for viewing.
  2. you will need time to ensure your tank is matured with all the necessary bacterias. If you are keeping fowlr, be patience. If fishless, should be quite fast. Good to learn more from reefers here to ensure success. Setback is always demoralising and prevent one from keep going.
  3. It will definitely be more energy demanding when compared to smaller chiller but it will chill down your tank much faster, thus shorter time. But then, if you read the past post, the start-up is always the demanding part. The question is whether you want to have an overkill chiller or getting the right balance. A 1/4 can support up to 4ft. PPl will go for 1/3 to go for assurance. What is your tank size?
  4. they definitely need light. Their demand for light varies and you have to adjust according to their likings. For MH, u can be rest assured the sand bed can be supported. For T5, some demanding LPS might not do well if you place them on sand bed as your tank is 2.5. Having said these, i do konw ppl who kept prata just using T5 LO in a 2ft height tank but the placement is mid to top of the tank. For SPS, intense lighting is fine but for some LPS, intense lighting is likely to breach them. If you dont mind the heat, chiller requirement, contingency setup and electrical bill, go for MH with supplement of some blue T5. Just my personal opinion.
  5. hi bro, glad u stay on. The lightset will have no problem in hitting your sand bed, in fact, using T5 will also hit your sand bed but the question is what you intend to keep and whether you are looking to achieve those shimmering effect. Bear in mind, using MH will generate more heat and more electricity due to chiller requirement and make sure you have setup to cut off the MH if there is any failure to power, etc. For SPS lovers and shimmering effect lover, personally, i think MH is still the best(unless you want to try for LED which i have no comment on its effectiveness as i am not a user....). If you decide to go for the MH, make sure you measure and ensure yr cabinet can fit the rack....if not, you might need some DIY to house it.....all the best.
  6. Hi Bro, based on your pic, the previous owner is using an ehiem pump. I think you should go for 1262.
  7. depends, willing seller and willing buyer. maybe you can list down and ppl can advice you on the market rate but depending on the you and buyer, not all can fetch market rate....some maybe lower and some higher if ppl think is a gem in their eyes....all the best.
  8. thanks for everyone's feedback. Will improve on right handside as i will be recycling my some rocks in my existing tank. Thanks again.
  9. my rock scape for the time being.....
  10. finally bro. Hehehe. Hope everything fine for you. Maybe you can consider yong hua. For your enquiry, so far never heard of but unlikely they want to expose themselve for their workmanship cost.....or they want double earning....the markup from workmanship and material....
  11. Me not game expert but can try to help. . . Hehe
  12. lol...patience is the key to this hobby....wahaahaha
  13. henry side out of stock???? was thinking to drop by to buy....lol. All the best.
  14. just place a mirror to the tank...the aggressive tang will think it is one of its kinds and start flaring...not knowing that is its own reflection...and ignore other new tang being introduced.....
  15. ya....help me keep a lookout....lol
  16. there is always exception......introduced a yellow and purple and in the end...the yellow whacked the purple....
  17. think CF might have pistol shrimp....blue neon also but must ask auntie as i know it has escaped and now in one of the display tank. Steven side didnt see any neon.....maybe coming soon? He is one who i bring in regularly.....
  18. nice fishes. shot with your D90?
  19. agrees....unless got miracle..either u leave it to let it die slowly or touch it to speed up the death.....
  20. bro, setup good doesnt mean much....think most importantly is the effort, that one must learn from you...hehe. anyway, cabinet slowly up......did the scape....put in grade 1 sand...then top layer put shell, etc. wave makers put in....but only tested vortec. scaping incomplete as will be recycling some old rocks....did the egg crate to cover the tank for wrasse.....use those plastic wire mesh to cover the overflow to ensure no small fishes will go into the overflow....
