Hi Kim Kim, for your small setup, ask for second hand stuff, including sand, rock, etc. It will save you money. I have small liverocks, livesand, canister filter and prism skimmer for sales 2 as i am decomming my QT tanks. For sand and rock, it will be free. For those hang on filter, canister filter, or prism skimmer, i will be selling with a small token, if you are interested. : )

agrees, the difference can be significant. The way the tank is built and the maker also play a part in the durability.

Filtering for your overflow and double returns, etc. Loose Connection - Fastener and regular check. Faulty Equipment - Standby equipment Flood - can cause by chokage, faulty equipment, loose connection, etc. Plan your sump and ensure when everthing stopped, your sump can manage. For your return pipe, drip hole to prevent flooding due to back siphon of water from your return pump. Death - sea cucumber, coral such as anemon, etc can be sucked by wave maker, causing water to be contaminated Overdosage of supplement - equipment such as CR, dosing pump, etc. Temperature increase due to breakdown of chiller and lighting(especially MH) turned on. Murphy law - anything can happen, leakage of tank, etc. Just do regular check and be prepare for worst case. In reefing, there are systems available to prevent this and that but there is no 100% assurance. Regular check and maintenance helps.

I may be wrong, FOWLR tank will likely to have more nitrate and nitrate due to feeding and waste....hence a skimmer is recommended. For coral only, i think water change is recommended for clear and replenishment of elements. Open to correction. Happy reefing.

Hi bro, yr new tank project commenced? Not a user to this pump but they looked impressive enough and reasonably priced to give it a try. Maybe u can google other forums to check as i think it is not commonly available(at that time after aquarama). Later on, the lower flow rate models was made available. The needlewheel pump also looked impressive. : )

wonder after all the supporting and spending...one can survive till the day where the shop is still around to bring in goodies.....lol. My poison to this is always got thing to buy and to cure it is to avoid going to LFS.........still trying to find the cure.....

at times can use rock to block the wave and prevent from creating a hole. : )

bro, for small tank, think use NSW will do unless you are keeping demanding corals. save the money and buy gems.

i kept a pico tank with just a skimmer. it's fine. for pico, if u are hard working, regular siphon and water chge, think u may skip some equipment but u must make sure yr tank is mature enough. the livestock u intend to keep also plays a part.

the full moon gobies all sold. Those interested, can save the trip.

if for fish only, keeping it below 30 should be fine. However, there will be exception for certain livestocks. Do read up more and understand their requirement before buying.

think only LCK have black clown now but not sure about the tear drop. Maybe you can check with Bro Joe P whether he got new batch of home breed black clown.
