  1. Basically I glue them as single stick frags But its interesting to try glueing the whole colony like that (if you are willing to try )
  2. Like you said, it's all about morals Quite true that Man had surpassed natural instincts to exercise self control. If you had picked up that cash and kept it, it just shows how well you've been taught and whether you hold on to your morals well
  3. Firstly, you can only get chaeto from reefers who have them I do not recommend growing caulerpa with 12 hours of light and risk it turning vegetative. I do have a sump which is my refugium, MSB, frag growout and hospital area
  4. Last shot by my Dad Wonder why it has an extra large polyp
  5. Haha...its not a topic until I reveal the price Anyway, when can I come see your tank personally?
  6. Got this new insanely coloured echinata!!!!
  7. Sadly I did not really document this method Maybe will try again if I can have some stylopora frags...
  8. Its recommended to have lights for 12hrs and would be better if you have it on reverse
  9. The thing is that you have to introduce the bacteria and give them time to colonise. A surface for them to do so is also recommended. Too much of bacteria will cause them to become pathogenic (due to the quorum gene) and you do not want that
  10. I do not recommend a 6 inch deep sand bed as it will definately create a totally anaerobic regoin. Read my article on sandbeds to understand more. And regarding macroalgae, caulerpa is good but requires 24hr lighting and regular pruning to keep it from becoming vegetative. More reefers are changing to using chaetomorpha instead as it is much more stable than caulerpa
  11. Nvm la...your also nice nice wad This thread not only for US zoos
  12. Just to share my comments on this issue as a RM customer I think before you start this thread, please give a thought for Joe himself. He is not an owner of a manufacturing company, or even mass produce his products. Basically, it is more of a one man show or maybe he has some friends to help him. Like what he said, if all his customers were to call him to help setup or service the products, he would be running all over Singapore everyday. Best he could do is to offer you the required help over the phone or guide you over a PM. I truely believe that Joe has a very valid reason not to help your friend personally but he would be agreeable to help out in any way he can. And lastly, I believe that it is also your own responsibility to search and read up on how calcium reactors work as they mostly operate with similar functions. I have always believed in solving your own problems yourself and not to rely on others too much
  13. Yeah quite true Mine was taken under actinics and I only applied auto levels
  14. Yeah I've tried this method once and its great!!! Just bear with it being awkward for some time but once it starts to grow, it'll look normal
  15. Haha...relax bro Was thinking of getting it so need to clarify first
  16. Hmm bro, your dog somehow looks like someone I know... And yeah, would love to exchange frags one mine grows into colonies
  17. Oh you mean coralline algae? Basically pump up those Ca, kH and Mg levels with an extra flavouring of blue lights
  18. That pic was taken off Just Phish You probably got R. yuma rather than R. florida
  19. Mine is the normal size without extension Running it on a MD40
  20. Is a stronger pump needed to drive the skimmer after the extension?
  21. Its interesting to see many mis-spelled reefkeeping terminology so lets correct them by stating them here So far I've seen: "Power" blue tang should be powder blue tang (due to its powder blue colour) "Crownfish" should be clownfish (due to its wierd swimming pattern) "Cynaria" should be cynarina (due to its scientific name) "Metal highlight" should be metal halide (due to it containing a halide) Pls share some more so as to correct these mistakes
