  1. Any other opinions? 10k or 14k cause I am going to change bulb soon Today suddenly the water parameters gone haywire. Calcium shot up to 600+ ppm. Added some magnesium but instead of going down, it increased to 700. What should I do to salvage this situation?
  2. I have tried that with my RBTA, and believe me, it ain't fun
  3. Ha....its long since I last visited this thread So far new additions are 2 SPS colonies One is a luminicent pastel sky blue acro with yellow corallites and the other is a jade green stag with baby blue tips Just figured that there are 2 acro crabs calling the stag their home My dad is not back yet so no pics yet *sorry* Anyway, got a small algae bloom on my sandbed at a corner. Not diatoms though, looks more like brown stringy algae. Maybe its time to change my bulbs already. Talking about bulbs, you guys think i should change it to a 10k or remain at 14k cause I read that 14ks are killers of SPS colours
  4. Anyone have comments on the 10k bulbs compared to the 14k ones?
  5. My SPS have their polyps extended when the lights are on
  6. My advice, use a black stip of paper to cover the exposed area (outside) You want to prevent algae growths in the sand
  7. I have a buyer and I'll inform you guys if he backs out Sorry but I do not have pics now as my DC is with my dad in Japan Basically, its like what DA has said, red zoos with green mouths
  8. Hi guys, I got a rock full of red people eaters for sale. I have cultured it in my growout for about 3 months and the rock is pretty much "live" Going for $15 or would trade for frags (Pls provide pics) Collection at Pasir Ris or can meet up at the farms on weekends
  9. I personally believe that H2S will leak out but its not enough to adversely affect our tank inhabitants. In fact, you see all those poisons that corals produce, you will think twice about H2S. You can smell it, yes, but you know its critical when it makes you drowsy. And like what Alentino said, proper set up sandbeds do not have any trace of the "black stuff". Anyway, analysis results coming soon.
  10. Let me try: Paradiz Reef YAY!!! Let's progress toward greater heights from now

  18. In my point of view, it all boils down to our own mentality. We must learn to face the hard fact that you cannot have quality and cheap together. This applies to the sponsors as well. I think that why we are having problems with sponsorships are that other shops do not want to spend money to be a sponsor here. And because of that, they become jealous of sponsors having a lot more business than them. So as a defensive reaction, they will psyco a reefer by telling all sorts of crap about the "forum". Its true and I have experienced it many times with different LFS. I support the stand of closing down the pasar malam forum. Reasons are that this particular forum has been exploited to such an extent that it has caused much problems for us. By closing the pasar malam, we significantly reduce the number of flaming threads regarding sales and at the same time, discourage the sale of stuff. What I am referring to here are the newbies who have this sick mindset that they can start a reef for enjoyment and then sell away the stuff if it crashes and wish to even earn a profit for it. A way which I think can help this situation is to establish ourselves as a prominent figure in the reefing scene in Singapore. The problem now is that new reefers treat us as a free forum for them to anyhow post cause nothing will happen to them if they post such content.
