  2. Crayola table Water crystal clear must be the work of ozone
  3. These are actually colloidal matter which accumulates at the surface. That is why it is good to feed skimmers with water directly from the overflow
  4. These guys are filter feeders so provide them with the appropriate food
  5. I think the guys at GARF are using URI tubes to grow their SPS. Basically, if you want to run VHO, the ballast, tubes and all are quite expensive
  6. Let's put it this way, S.G. is made up of the many different components in the test solution other than water

  12. Those specks you see are actually pods When I first looked into the scope under 100x magnification, I could see the pods eating the phyto cells. Upon 600x magnification, I founf that in the mass of phyto cells, there are translucent oval shaped organisms moving amongst the cells!!!!
  13. Ok, I got nothing to do and I did this A mini experiment to check out the cool microscopic life in my tank. Flooded a cup of tank water with DT's Live Phytoplankton and I used my old bicycle lamp to attract the pods. Checked a drop with 600x magnification from my microscope and let me tell you, THERE'S A WHOLE LOT OF LIFE IN THAT DROP!!!!!
  14. Pengz, how come suddenly all pop up? Mating season ar?
  15. Just for laughs, I know of a friend who uses nylon stockings for this purpose. So as a warning to those using nylon stockings, do not use ozone as you will slowly see it turning purple and when you know it, all the GAC is floating around
  16. If I am not wrong, it has jets of water blowing off the surface to prevent the jellysihes from bumping onto the surface. And these setups use backlights instead of normal lights and are SUPER EXPENSIVE
  17. Woah big pics You have lights in your setup?
  18. Yeah I'm referring to the glueing of the blue connectors. Should not have a problem changing them once in a while. Other than that, I do not see any other parts degrading
