Hey Keith, do you mind to frag a piece of that purple polyped monti (now green base) from Harlequin for me? It's a Montipora spongoides by the way
-
No... actually it had started before that while I'm dosing AA Going to get my Phoenix today so I'll post full tank shots later

My hyacinthus dropped today so I thought I should take some pics to show the colour change The centre had darkened brown but it had turned green with blue tips

For your case, bro Underwater, you might want to do a bullet proof setup Taking LR is more destructive than taking corals as corals grow very quickly. LR however, would take hundreds and thousands of years to form. For LR, you might want to look at DIYing yourself using cement and sand and for corals, go for aquacultured ones rather than wild ones. Yes, taking corals from the environment would affect it a way or another. Just like the butterfly effect in the Chaos Theorem, a small change such as the flap of a butterfly's wings can result in a disastrous change in the future

Saw this in zeovit forum and I thought it would be very helpful for us to help the beginners 1) What is your gross water volume (incl. sump) 2) What is your net water volume (incl. sump) 3) What lighting are you using? 4) What filtration equipments do you have? (Brand, rating) 5) What type of filtration technique are you using? (Berlin, Jaubert, etc...) 6) Are you using any filter media? (What type? Brand and amount) 7) Are you dosing supplements? (What type, brand, dosage) 8) How much LR do you have? (Weight, cured or uncured?) 9) How many LS do you have? (excl. corals, what type, how many?) 10) How many corals do you have? (What type? How many?) 11) Are you having any problems? (General eg. Algae bloom) 12) Elaborate your problem 13) What are your tank water parameters? 14) What testkits do you use to test?

Basically, try to aquascape using as little rocks as possible if you are not into Berlin system And do not pack your rocks together, leave large holes and crannies for fish to swim through and or water flow

That's hilarious -
I found that almost all the beginner guides state the same things Maybe you can provide some resources?

My sandbed is only 2inch thick so not much of a nutrient sink considering I got that hardworking cuke of mine to clean it of detritus. Still need to confirm the prices of the Zeovit stuff first. Don't know whether it had fluctuated
-
Haha thought it should be the other way round So when can we go see your tank?
-
Not sudden la. Thought I told you some time back that I am planning on Zeovit? I'm not going full Berlin though, can't bear to leave my sandbed And after calculations on costs and weighing the pros and cons, I decided to go with it
-
No worries WL, no offence taken
-
Thought there's already some who are full Zeovit? BTW, I'm planning mine to start Zeovit, probably next month By then, I'll probably upgrade my skimmer as part of Zeovit requirements

Yes I apologise for not reading through first. I just couldn't bear to see our own reefers in such a quarrel. I'm not Alfa's spokesperson neither am I Alan's I'm just stating my opinion based on my limited knowledge of this incident and it had shown to be more complicated than I thought. But nevertheless, I still hope things will work out
-
Yeah it looks good now that the polyps have extended and the STN stopped Your bottle of CV is still in my fridge
-
I didn't read through all the posts and did not know you had said that you have posted the wrong photo In that case, since Alan had admitted to his mistake, I think we should let the other party settle it. No point bringing up this issue everytime the word "red" appears. It does not do well to both parties so why not settle it once and for all?
-
Maybe he "mocked" at Alan because Alan had posted a photo of photoshoped corals in a thread asking for SPS photos without lighting. The whole purpose of this thread IMO is to show the true colours of SPS without any supplimentary lightings and by photoshoping, you defeat the purpose of this thread isn't it? Therefore, from what I see, Alfa did not mock Alan because he edited his picture but because he had sort of "cheated" in this particular thread by not showing the true colours of the SPS. And the reason IMO that why Alfa deleted photos he previously posted is to stop people from further posting anymore condescending comments to him. Since this is just a hobby and furthermore, we should be more united as a club and not continue to reprimand him. A little apology from both sides and each take a step back and compromise, everything would be well. I'm not taking sides here but I really hope this will work out.

Haha there's no need to be jealous. When you are determined and dedicated, you can have such a nice setup too And Zac, love those zoos you have
