  1. Those anti-cyano products are just antibiotics I would advise you to siphon out all your water, clean off as much cyano as you can and then add newly mixed DI or RO/DI water
  2. Bro, you could drop by my place if you want as I stay in Pasir Ris too and we can have a good talk
  3. Bro syed (that's your name right if i didn't remember wrongly) We are glad that you are still in this hobby I wish you many good years ahead
  4. I am more inclined to the comments by Randy Holmes-Farley, a chemist, who said that he could not see how ozone could have any reaction with DOC and make them more "skimmable" Try looking up for his articles and posts in RC
  5. IMO ozone would not have any impact on nitrate levels In contrary, ozone is suspected to convert DOC into stuff that cannot be skimmed out and these stuff would eventually decompose and add to the nitrate If I were you, I'd upgrade my skimmer and pump in ozone into the skimmer
  6. Maybe you could tell us what makes you think it does
  7. It's all stated and explained in my article
  8. Thanks for your offer bro but I'm a little tight now so looking for a second hand unit Anyone?
  9. As long as you do not have an obscenely thick sandbed, you would not have to worry about H2S
  10. If you have read my article, the black stuff is not hydrogen sulphide as H2S is a gas and not a ppt. The black stuff is iron sulphide and unless you do not stir it and release it into your system, it should be ok
  11. I'll need it ASAP so if you guys know of anyone selling pls PM me k?
  12. Thanks for all the upz guys (have not logged in for quite some time) And thanks for all those who PMed or SMSed me but the skimmer is currently reserved Thanks for all the interest
  13. Basically, I am actually planning to bring up the issue of a total SRC Revamp to the higher admin but since you guys brought it up, I might as well share some of my thoughts. Basically, we have yet to achieve our goal which is to promote responsible reefkeeping. This is evident as you see reefers quitting the hobby or take up the challenge of some of the more "imposiible" to keep creatures. And to be frank, I kind of dislike it when the sponsors put up advertisments saying that they sell stuff like jellyfish, nudibranch and octopus So we must bear our goal in mind and work towards it Think of it as an issue of changing water. If you do not do regular water changes, your tank's water ages, becomes yellowish and ORP drops. So what you should do is to change water so that your tank is crystal clear and ORP rises. I think SRC had aged and it's high time we had a "water change". Things such as decals, newsletters, t-shirts and cards all play a part in either increasing the value of an SRC membership or showing that SRC is still prime in the area of reefkeeping in Singapore. So let's welcome the new year and I believe that many changes will happen so let us all be strong and have faith in AT and the mods

  15. From what I know, the administrative people are very busy now and there are lots of stuff that are proposed to be done but are pushed aside. Do not despair though, I've got a feeling that all this would be solved soon
  16. Dupla skimmers are those using air stone right?
  17. I'll throw in 1 Aquaz Hydro Magnesium Premium 1 Aquaz Hydro Strontium Premium 1 Aquaz Hydro Triplex Premium 1 Aquaz Hydro Iodine Premium 1 Aquaz Hydro Calcium Premium 1 Alpha Premium Golden Pearls 5-50 microns 1 Alpha Premium Golden Pearls 500-800 microns All are brand new and unused at all
  18. Yes, you can do more cuts if you want but the success rate goes down as with the number of cuts you make Best I've seen, do 2 cuts and hope it splits into 2 polyps And as for zoos, you can cut them, rip them apart or even chisel right through them!!
