  1. Actually, there was a discussion on this some time ago We'll leave the authorities to decide
  2. Yes, we should discontinue this thread and I'll not post anymore But Alfie had asked me to inform you guys to call him so the decision is up to you Cheers to all and have a Merry Christmas
  3. "Marine tank at Suntec" or something similar
  4. No seriously, Alfie wants a call from you guys
  5. Regarding the ST article, I wrote to them a couple of days ago before CR came up to clarify and the letter was only published today. And I just want to say that the title of the letter is given by ST, not me Since CR had clarified things and we got what we wanted and that they are willing to talk things out, I think it's about time we discontinue this thread. And those who had posted in this thread pls give Alfie a call as he wants to clarify things with you all.
  6. Ok guys, I'm the one who wrote to ST about this issue I have called up Alfie today to clarify things and he has expressed interest in garnering help from us hobbyists on how to better maintain the system. I just want to say that on my side, Alfie had given me a very comprehensive explaination about the whole issue and I urge all who posted in this thread to give Alfie a call to clarify things. Like Conrad had mentioned, this issue should have already given us a wake up call that every post we made can have an impact and can be used as evidence against us. All in all, I wish to express my deepest apologies to Suntec if my letter to ST had affected them in any way. But if you think about it, had I not written to them, someone else will and I'm sure Suntec will make a public clarification and put this matter to rest. In conclusion, I hope that the tank will go on well and should the maintenance team need any help from me, they can always PM me. Cheers
  7. Basically for 2 reasons 1) Skimmer is producing too much fine bubbles such that this is already the most dry I can get 2) Wetter skimmate would mean lesser gunk collected on the neck and it saves maintainence
  8. Those are most probably iron sulphide patches As long as they don't get into your water column then it's ok Remember, all sulphides are poisonous to organisms
  9. At least yours is bigger and look more like rainbow monti Mine is about 3 inches and polyps are full orange
  10. I find that 40w power saving bulbs work good
  11. Ok, since Coral Reef Aquarium had clarified things, I'll tell ST about it Finally, a happy ending
  12. And to Coral Reef Aquarium, feel free to PM me if you guys need any help and suggestions
  13. Thanks for the encouragement, I know what I can do and I'll not step over the line
  14. Hmm maybe you guys misunderstood my post I am not going to lend a hand in the tank and neither am I going to invest cash in it I will most likely give the management some basic knowledge of what it takes to run a reef tank and probably extend my help into looking at their stuff and give them advise on what to do next. I'm not going to pull SRC in but just that me and my circle of friends are willing to help in any way we can. I know my limits and I hope my age doesn't affect the way you guys judge my posts
  15. Maybe you might want to start off with achieving stable and good water parameters first. LPS are relatively easy except they require bright lights and moderate flow Our sponsors bring in LPS quite often too
  16. It had beat my old one hands down considering that it gives me as much skimmate as my old one would in a week in just 2 days
