  3. You know, I dreamt about finding 4 mantis shrimp in my tank yesterday night Scary....
  4. Is your heater a new one or a old one?
  5. Ok let's make this the 1001th post Purple mille is growing already but it sort of looks brown because of all the polyps Now considering dosing amino acids but does it really help at all?
  6. I caught one on the front glass of my tank I think it's attracted to the actinic lights
  7. Ah yes, I am also keen to try another type of propagation which involves fusing 2 SPS frags of the same colony together. If that is successful, I would try with different colour morphs as well
  8. I think Aquamarine sells those type of valves. Look for the small black ones
  9. I am glad to say that my SPS are already begining their growth spurt. I got a green staghorn that grows about a quarter of a centimetre each day and had begun to develop really blue tips. My 2 tenuis are also growing with the tri colour experiencing a darkening of the blues and greens The monti digitatas are somewhat slowing down in their growth and I sort of noticed the tips of the purple specimen beginning to turn pinkish The orange monti cap is growing really fast now and it seemed to grow downwards, probably because of the current. The purple cap has darkened in colour but not yet growing though. The green polyped monti had also grown and I am still expecting it to turn purple based or teal tips. The yellow acro colony has also shown quite a dramatic change in colour as the body has become a neon blue with dark navy blue tips!!!! Finally, the humilis had kind of burned by the sudden strong lighting that the once pink tips have developed patches of white. I hope it will recover and acclimatise soon
  10. No...must say drop by, take all the frags and then disappear into thin air joking...
  11. Yes I agree Do check on the publishing date of book which you read Another good alternative is to borrow magazines such as FAMA or PFK from the library
  12. Try to put the ballasts at a secure place You don't want them to drop Keep it up bro!!
  13. My photo period is 12hrs I never add any additives such as trace elements. The reason that I credit to the good growth is to know how to correctly grow them. I have followed what Anthony Calfo told me and it had reaped results!!! According to him, the best way to grow chaeto is to keep it in a very high flow area so that all sides will receive light. But as I am keeping the specimen in the basket, I compensated for this by turning the specimen everyday to ensure that all sides get the light needed
  14. The only spider like creature I've seen that moves extremely fast is the sally lightfoot crabs
  15. Haha...same tank maker as me His stuff are good
  16. Its a submersible pump? Can it be used externally? Would not want anymore heat as my chiller working longer hours due to the heat from my MH. Seems like I got to reconsider
  17. I had something like yours But mine is the sand clump up and coralline grows on it
  18. Love your tank too bro Vincent Would want to see it personally someday... Anyway, is the Rio 20HF air cooled or water cooled? Would not want to heat up my water
  19. I've seen it myself. Its not worth the entrance fee though. But let me warn you...you will be mesmerised by these intriguing creatures!!!
  20. You just made my day after my "O" level Chinese ###### exam so much!!!
  21. I stated above that i will be using it for my Beckett The headloss is just 2ft so I guess its better than my MD40 is terms of power consumption and performance?
  22. Next time when my specimen grows more polyps I trade with you
  23. Any other comments on the Rio 20HF? I might get it this week if I can find a good deal
  24. I guess those who went for the Anthony Calfo seminar would have heard his experience with palytoxin And that is also the reason why i am quite reluctant to frag my zoos
