Decided to make an overflow 'comb' after all. Sourced around supermarkets and DIY shop plastic containers with slots at the sides to use as the 'teeth'. However, although I found some really nice ones, they somehow do not have black plastic containers. Luckily I still had the 2 containers that I bought from Taiwan. Decided to use it as the overflow 'comb'.

Well some updates on what happened. After I silicone both sides of the partition, realised that the joint weren't as nice as I thought it would be. Ended up tearing the whole acrylic out and redid everything again. Here is the tank being taken for a bath once the silicon has dried, to test if the silicon has any leaks, and to wash away all the deris.

Time to play Uno Stacko! Haha, used the Uno Stacko blocks as support to make the acrylic straight while I silicon it to the tank.

But first, have to put tape along the sides of the acrylic and tank so that to make the silicon have a nice clean joint.

As you can see from the size of the hole, DIY is not always that precise. Better to always let a professional do it instead.

Haven't updated in a while. Because I was busy with other stuff. I finally got down to Dama a few days ago to buy the acrylic for my IOS. Its opaque black. Very good customer service. Price of the acrylic is less than 1 red note. I got a friend to help me drill the 50mm hole. No pictures of the drilling process because I was at his house, never bring camera.

Hi, there are some flaws in your sump design. Although you used 6" of foam to block off the bubbles, I don't think its the right solution in the long run, as it might we clogged up overtime. -
Hi, may I know whats the condition of the chiller, and how long have you used it? Any pics will be good.

Hi, tried calling Dama just now to ask about their operating hours. But nobody picked up. Can anyone tell me their operating hours, and if its open on Sundays? Thanks.

Update for the mangrove experiment. It seems to be growing fine and well. Observed that it blooms extremely fast after changing the water.

Looks like its time to change your FL pink tubes!

Last pic for today. Mobile DSB anyone? Only problem left now is that the seio will suck the from the surface as the water level is low.

Made more readjustments to the IOS design. The overflow will now be the total width of the IOS, instead of just one side. This is help to remove any detritus effectively and quickly. Cut out some eggcrate so that filter floss can be placed on top.

Removed the skimmer sponge, and attached a plastic hose to the end so that the skimmer output will flow directly into the PVC pipe. Any bubbles will dissipate to the top, and the water will flow out from the bottom. Have yet to drill holes in the PVC though. Hopefully it'll work, and prevent my seio from sucking any bubbles in.

Dug up some old PVC pipes from way back when I was building a DIY overflow. I knew it would come in handy someday.
