  1. Filed down the holes to make it look smooth. Went to popular to buy a piece of styrofoam for the tank base.
  2. Finally all the holes are drilled, 3 on each side. Note that the holes are not straight. Oh well, its all about experience.
  3. Drill away! Didn't do a really good job at this, because I'm not really good at drilling, and the surface is curved, so I missed the spot many times.
  4. Some minor updates again. Decided to take the time to drill my PVC pipe for the skimmer output. That is to allow water from the output of the skimmer to flow back into the IOS, and bubbles to dissipate at the top. Pic of the PVC pipe before its drilled.
  5. Hi, marcovan, I'm using a Seio 820 for my 'return' pump. Do you think its too powerful? I'm afraid it might not just be a drizzle.
  6. Thanks for you comments. Yes I think my overflow is too high. I wanted to make the water level high so I that the waterline would be hidden by they tank brim. That was before I decided to paste the electrical tape. Damn I'm starting to get worried about it now.
  7. More updates soon. Next stage would be installing all the equipment.
  8. After! The tape really helped to make the acrylic partition look thick.
  9. Taped the brim of the tank carefully. Oh btw, the overflow 'comb' was loose after washing the tank as I applied a very thin layer of silicon only. Removed it out to silicon it back later.
  10. Time to do up the tank with some cosmetics! Got some tape. (I think its electrical tape)
  11. The tank is all clean now. Don't mind the water droplets.
  12. Scrubbed ONLY THE OUTSIDE of the tank to remove all the stubborn stains. Don't know if turpentine will still leach into the tank so didn't use it on the inside.
  13. Some leftover sticky tape from the tank background.
  14. Well, still lots of silicon debris stuck in the tank, so decided to give it a thorough clean, and fix up some 'cosmetics'.
  15. Looking forward to your updates! Will check your post every now and then.
  16. hey peacemaker, how's you tank going? Why no more updates? Thanks for the comments. I am kind of a perfectionist, so I try to do everything 'swee, swee'. Progress is kinda slow and I think I'm boring the guys here with my posts, haha. More updates coming soon.
  17. Silicon the 'comb' onto the partition. This is the finished state. Next stage is to clean the tank out thoroughly, and improve its cosmetics. Updates soon.
  18. Measuring the length of the overflow 'comb'. Just had to trim the sides a little to fit.
