  1. I think its time to DIY myself a set of T5 lights. Just afraid they will bleach as my tank is only 1.2ft high.
  2. You're not alone Peace, lately I've been losing some LS too. 3 chromis and my cleaner shrimp got sucked by my seio 820 return. Some of my corals also seem to be worse after rescape.
  3. Hey thanks digiman! I frequent ah beng's shop though I've never seen it before. Will keep my eyes peeled.
  4. Most of the mushrooms are attached to the tank bottom, since I my tank is a BB tank. I'm getting really fed up with my mushrooms, I've seen how most of you guys can just make them grow like crazy without doing anything, but I cant get such results even though I tried many various ways to get them to expand. One question though, do you think its my lights? I noticed that their base is extended, is it due to lack of lighting? Using 2x36WPL for 2ft tank, I think its enough though. Any ideas?
  5. Anyone seen this fish around? Its called Blue Gudgeon Dartfish.
  6. Wow! Didn't know that there's so many blue fishes. And all along I could only think blue damsels and blue tang. I like the starcki damsel, just the right colouration for me. but damsels are aggressive aren't they? I'll let my tank mature first before putting in a dwarf angel. I'm afraid it'll nip on my corals. Thanks all for the suggestions and wonderful pictures.
  7. I never had to clean my glass ever since I switch to an algae scrubber. The only reason why I would want to clean the glass are the amount of pods on the glass.
  8. Hey peace, went to live aquaria but couldn't find that pic.
  9. Thanks for the replies. I've searched Lightning wrasse, and its not known to be reef safe. I might try the flameback angel, coral beauty or bicolour angel but then again angels are not 100% reef safe. Best bet would be the blue chromis. But I don't see them around much at the LFS. Any more suggestions welcomed!
  10. Not all corals require a FW dip. It may stress the coral you might kill it instead.
  11. Place them in low flow. The star polyps from ah beng have almost no flow at all. They need time to adjust to your tank. Lighting plays a part too. Don't put them in high lit areas.
  12. Sad news. Rescaped my tank yesterday and noticed my cleaner shrimp missing. Thought it was just hiding to molt but if disappeared the whole day. Just found that it was sucked by my seio wavemaker used as a return pump.
  13. I got a nano tank, and I'm lacking of something blue. Looking for a fish thats blue in colour. I can only think of blue tang and damsels. However being a nano tank, blue tang is out of the picture, and damsels are too aggressive for a small tank. What other blue fishes are suitable for my nano tank? Here's a list of my LS: 4x blue green chromis 2x firegoby 1x yellow clown goby 1x bi colour blenny 1 x false clown 1x strawberry crab 1x turbo snail Thanks for any suggestions contributed
  14. Just did a water change today and so pissed off about the coralife salt. Can't wait to finish the pack. I'm thinking of going back to RedSea salt (non pro) at least its better than the salt I'm using now. I've also seen Kent Marine salt going for the same price but don't know if its good?
  15. What light is that? Looks like a 18W PL light. You can purchase the B/W bulb from ah beng, he has the 11w and 18w bulbs, which I think your tank will not look yellowish with just the white light.
  16. Very nice tank. Do butterfly fishes nip on SPS?
  17. I second that! And I think its the easiest LS to catch because it comes to you.
  18. I have a great success keeping the brown diatoms away but unfortunately bryopsis has taken over and I can't seem to get them off. Also, my nitrates have shot back to 25mg/l for nearly 2 weeks now. Any ideas?
  19. White poop = Death Highly likely that its cyanide poisoning. I've bought fishes from there before, and got a few cases of fishes with suspected cyanide poisoning.
  20. Yes it looks interesting with one big flaw, if there's a blackout, you will come home to a flooded house.
  21. I'm at Blk 243. Simei is such a small and quiet neighbourhood don't you think?
