  1. Want to clear some space as they are getting too big for my tank. 1 x Pipe organ coral (fist size) Bought from CF for $7 1 x feather duster fanworm (brown/white/yellow) Bought from AM for $5 Take both for $10. Collection will be at Jurong East (IMM) during working hours only as it is an office tank. Interested sms me at 96 five eight 0 4 one one.
  2. Trust me guys... you do not want this in your tank. Once it spreads its really hard to clear! I rather have cyano than this...
  3. Some updates to my tank. Changed my PL lightset to Aquazonic LED. Definitely better and brighter but I find that it is missing that blue tinge from the PL. I also added had a new 'extension', a standalone frag tank for soft corals. I plan to convert my DT to keep more LPS corals. The new tank, with all my mushroom frags. Will rescape the main tank this week.
  4. Thanks for the advice, I don't have space for a heater, but I'm planning to reuse the powerhead to heat the tank back up to 24'C.
  5. My 4G pico in my office temp is at a low temp due to the powerful aircon. Previously, the tank was at 24'C but after changing my lights from PL to LED, and removing a small powerhead, the tank temp is now at a whopping 22.5'C - 23'C. I have another small tank setup with (water from main tank)which has a higher temp due to its smaller volume, at about 25'C. After transferring some mushrooms into the smaller tank, it seems to have expanded more. Could this be a result of low temp issues? What is the lowest optimal temp a reef tank can go?
  6. This is a very interesting thread.... hope more reefers can share their weird stuff!
  7. What is the depth of the pond?
  8. I have tried this product too, and so far I'm very satisfied with the results. I am a complete dummy in dosing additives as I only do water changes to replenish trace elements. This product is very simple and easy to use, being someone who has no experience in dosing additives before. After using it for a week, I have noticed that my corals have started to open up more.
  9. Just bought the AquaZonic Double Bright G2.... Seems ok but I think it has a little hint of yellowish tinge. Definitely better than my PL.
  10. So it is not ideal for marine use? Is there guide to the ratio of white/blue bulbs ideal for marine tanks?
  11. Anyone using the Beamswork 200? http://freshnmarine....roducts_id=3726 Supports 30x10000K daylight, 3xactinic 460nm I have a question about this lightset, since it has 30 white bulbs and only 3 actinic, won't it still give the yellowish tinge? Is this lightset catering more to freshwater than marine tanks? My tank dimensions are 12"x7"x9". Will it be too bright for my tank?
  12. Just a thought. You could install underwater lights at the sides like those condominium swimming pools. So that you can observe the pond at night. If you've been to a kelong you will know what I'm talking about.
  13. This is going to be the best 'tank' ever! Please continue to update!!!
  14. The chaeto is in my HOB filter, so its hard to prevent loose strands from escaping even after fitting a strainer.
  15. Internal bacteria infection. http://www.chucksaddiction.com/disease.html
  16. I always have strands of chaeto that make their way into my DT. I'm thinking of getting some snails to feed on them. What snails feed on chaeto? What about bumblebee snails?
  17. Thanks HM for the addictives. I've been using it for one week and so far I'll wait abit longer to get more results. Meanwhile the corals are doing well and opening up beautifully. Will give a more detailed review soon.
  18. New week.. new updates! Added more corals and some adjustments to the scape. My mini mushroom corner. Rest of the mushrooms are in the beta box, waiting to be released! Last pic of my plate coral and green zoas.
  19. With such high ambient temperature, I do not think fans alone can sustain in the long run. Best option would be to invest in a chiller. Also take a look at why your tank is at such a high temp - remove unnecessary equipment that heats up the water. What kind of lights are you running on? Take note that the position of the fan blowing against the water will affect the temp it can bring it down to. Try adjusting the position to get optimal results.
  20. Thanks for the input guys, i will give it a few more days and hope it opens up. What about the stalks? Will it bend towards the light? Any ideas?
  21. I bought a rock of clove polyps 3 days ago. It was not opened when I bought it at the LFS. Until today it remains closed. Frankly speaking I'm not even sure if its clove polyps. Also, the stalks are already pointing in that awkward state. Will the stalks readjust themselves when the cloves are open towards the light? There are some small polyps which I presume are white star polyps. The questions I am asking are: 1. Are my cloves dying from the looks of the pic? 2. How long do I have to wait for the cloves to open? Is there a time period that I have to wait? Will they die if it does not open for X number of days? 3. Will the stalks readjust themselves? From my experience, any newly bought star polyps always open within 1 day in the tank. I've never had to wait that long before... Can't stop feeling worried.
  22. Caught the reefing bug... can't concentrate on my work, keep surfing SRC!!
