  1. Kakani, just what I thought as well, my sps should be brown if no3 are high. I thought sps need high lights.. Im using 2 6x3w evo lightsets. As for my kh, using API test strip it is 120 which is dKH 6-7 if I convert it correctly. So my KH is low instead of high. Attached is a pic of yellow bn on left and radioactive bn on right. rbn has totally bleached but has green PE. Yellow bn right side has bleached frm what i think was lack of light but it shows new PE growth since I added another lightset.
  2. My sps frags have started to bleach.. however it still has PE which I can see are spreading. I'm attributing it to the high NO3 I have (>40ppm) and temp of 27-28'C. I'm also thinking could it be because of too much light? My lps have started bleaching as well nut other corals are doingfine. Will take a pic later when lights are up.
  3. New updated article. http://www.todayonline.com/singapore/more-marine-species-discovered-second-phase-expedition#inside
  4. Was watching the news last night. Found an article on it here. http://www.todayonline.com/singapore/new-marine-species-found-singapore-waters
  5. Thanks for the info. How about a pic of the lights clamped onto your tank?
  6. How abt a fts of your tank? Keep up with the updates. You're a really patient reefer!
  7. ReefFish is right. I off my pumps for half an hour during water change.
  8. Hi sunny, I didn't do much to it, just placed it in a low light area as its alittle bleached. So far it has not regained its true colours yet.
  9. Thanks for the replies guys, angmoh, are you using tapwater too?
  10. I'm thinking of getting rowaphos to remove PO4. I'm more concerned about the NO3.
  11. A reefer told me that he's using tapwater with seachem prime for water changes. Read up on seachem prime that it not only removes chlorine/chloramine, it also removes NH4, NO2, NO3 and some other metals. If that is the case, I'm considering using it for my water changes instead of lugging distilled water. What do you guys recommend?
  12. You can get those at sim lim tower.
  13. Bro slapper, how much water do you topup daily? Are the dymax fans any good? I'm using the sunon fan and its only able to bring my temp down to 28'c.
  14. Any one has info of ah bengs shipment tomorrow? I'm looking for small blue tang and sea hare as well.
  15. The brain was passed to be by a friend. It was slightly bleached when I got it... so I feed it occasionally and put it in a low flow area. I prefer the deflated look though but I'm glad that its happy.
  16. Here's a pic of it when my lights are on.
  17. My open brain coral is always swollen when the lights are on. Is this normal? It always expands are though its going to explode, and I can't even see the distinct figure '8' shape anymore. Seen those open brain in other reefer's tank looking normal... is there something wrong with my open brain?
  18. You can pry open the white bulb and solder on a blue bulb instead. But be prepared to lose the white bulb as it is glued quite firmly on the board.
  19. Seems that your light is too intense. 1. Still can recover. 2. Throw away, no hope left 3. Not sure from the looks of the pic.
  20. That's sad news. He had a really great tank going.
  21. Just wondering where he's been or what he's busy with. Anyone still in contact with our ex boss? Would like to visit him sometime to see his huge tank (if he still has it that is).
