Look Nice for equipment. What you are plan to keep SPS? As look from return pump size of ~3000L/Hrs plus MP40 It's seem high flow rate for 2 feet cube.

If you know what you want to add (ca,mg or kh) you can use powder and mix with ro/di water. ( This will much cheaper than by ready product) If dosing amount is not a lot the other of mineral like iodine can be replace by water change.
-
I would suggest before you add anything better to test before added. As difference tank and type of coral will utilize diff element.

Most people got put off might be due to reactor cost(I lucky got 2nd hand). To me in long run this more cost effective and easier to maintain comapre to : Control of PO4 - FR for PO4 remover. - PO4 remover Control of NO3 - Weekly water change for 20% (for big tank this is no joke now I change 10%(~60l) every 2 week) - Big refugium - Denitrator (Cost could be high too and rick of lower Ph in sulpher base denitrator) I try ultralith because 2 reason maintainence cost for long run and ease of maintainence

I did learn forom all of senior here. Did you familier with those frag Still have few more space to few with your exotic Monti and another SPS

Yap there is 1 green and 1 yellow. Both with me for more than 1 year You are most welcome. Just only nothing fancy to show

And here is my current doesing schedule for Ultralith Ultra Bak 10 drops(~0.5ml) / day 5 in moring and 5 in evening Ultra Min S 10 drops(~0.5ml) / day 5 in moring and 5 in evening So for 250 ml bottle will last me for more than a year. That mean around 35 cents / day (This can take care both NO3 and PO4) Ultra BIO 20 drops(1 ml) / 10 drops twice per Week Ultar lith .3 l / every 2 weeks But i believe when live stock increase will need to adjust this schedule accordingly So 1 months cost for me now is ~ $31.5 Ultra Bak + Ultra Min S -> $10.5 Ultra Bio -> $5 Ultra lith -> $16 compare to use PO4 remover ~ $90 / 2-3 months ~$30 - $45/month plus methode to lower NO3 (Not sure how to calculate this) Now My sump quite simple and easy to maintain - Skimmer - Ultralith reactor - Carbon reactor

After few months of running with Ultralith now I think it time to go for SPS. For the pass few months both NO3 and PO4 was stable at very low so my tank parameter now as followed. No3 -> 0.2 PO4 -> 0.015 For reef supplement: Ca -> 420 Mg -> 1350 Kh -> 8 - 9 Recently I got quite number of frags from our SPS guru. And now wait for then to grow. Below is pic of them nothing fancy I want to track progress of them to compare for few months time.

How about new Reef octopus. I just replace my faulty OR6500 with Reef Octopus 7000. Compare to Eheim 1262 (I running both for return pump) it equaly quite and it rate only 88W ( lower than 1262).

Flow from it is good and very wide. Yes it cannot aim to specific direction but I find it does not matter. Now I may look into upgrade my old controller to ES version so I can use new mode when pair it.

SKIMZ E-SERIES MONZTER INTERNAL PROTEIN SKIMMER SM251
tanit replied to sunnymau's topic in Product Reviews
I must say it good performance compare to price. Actually I did perchase on smaller model but may be just my luck that got problem on the pump. So I trade up to SM201 with running smoothly and save on electric too.
