Quite some time after last update. Now I decide to to upgrade to slightly bigger tank. Most of it I diy from what I can find from my store room. First : Stand After I made stand then find it to big for current tank. So at the end decide to custom made tank fot it it around 18G (21"X14"x16"H). This tank I design to have both under flow and over flow to help for intank flow. (Still try remain concept of low energy use only 1 pump for return , wave maker through SCWD and filter to overflow. Here the tank

Are you Thai? I am Thai but I leave here in Singapore. I love your rock scape it's very nice. Hope you can fill up your tank with nice coral soon

With this size of tank will hold 225 Gal > 850l. What I understand salt water will havey than fresh water ( Fresh water 1l ~ 1 Kg ). You may need to consider weight of sump, cabinet and all equipment. I quite sure it will more than 1 ton. I did see tank. I think around 8 ft but it sit direct on beam. You may consider that. My tank is 5 x 2 x 2.5 I ask HDB for approval it take around 3 wks to get approved

Yes, mostly will be poly and some LPS then monitor for progress can I go to SPS with same routine of maintenance. I did some research on Nano-reef.com so will try to followed it with no skimmer and export NO3 and PO4 by Refugium and may add some absorber chemical to help if needed.

Yap I took this pic just after put in sand and rock. For the light I going to diy from LED from my old project. and it target to be mix reef with easy maintainenace in mind

Thanks for feed back

Here is wave maker got good deal from reefer here. And here how I install it. It quite a lot of head loss will monitor is it produce enough flow. If not I may need to upgrade to stronger pump. While wait for tank to completed cycle. I will continue to diy LED for main display and refugium area.

I use caribsea hawii black sand. One think this product it's have too many big size of small rock ( up to 1cm in dia) I need to select it out before I put in .

Hi All, After I read of many reefer for Nano setup. So I want to try on Nano too. Today is birthday of my tank as start setup and cycle today. This set up is on budget type as I did reuse mode of item. The concept is to keep it simple and easy maintainence. My current setup is with refugium. I had no plan for skimmer at the moment will maintain by refugium and weekly water change. I set it up to use only 1 pump for every thing include filtering and wave maker. This to save electrical and not to introduce to much heat to tank. This tank journey will go very slow. I plan to cycle for 1 month. as I use most of the dead rock. and seeding some from my main tank and live sand Please give any recomend or comment I wish to learn from all of you too. Here is my rockscape. Water still very

Hi I am thinking to set up new Nano tank now in phase to collect information to design the system. I did some reseach in nano-reef.com and come out for idea below. =>http://www.nano-reef.com/articles/?article=3 Plan to build new tank around 20+ gallons with build in refugium around 4-5 gallons. The goal is to build system for soft coral and LPS that easy for maintenance and low in budget. No plan for skimmer and chiller at the moment (Will use fan). Mainly maintainence task will be change water to export NO3 and PO4. and also replace for trace element (No additive add). For refugium plan to use mud filter with macro algae to export NO3 ,PO4 and breeding ground for pod I have 2 options to decide: Option1 : Water from display section flow to (IOS) overflow section then pump water to refugium then overflow back to main display section. Pro: Pod or any type of plankton will flow direct to main tank. Con: I think must add wave maker to create flow which will generate heat. Option2 : Water from display section Overflow direct to refugium. Then pump water back to display section Pro: This way I will need only 1 pump to operate with help of .. may be hydor FLO defector to help for random flow Con: Pod or plankton need to pass through pump before return display section. I believe majority of them will get cruch by the pump - Which option will be better. - Any reccommed for mud filter or any another substrate for refugium to recommend. - Or If you have any another suggestion fell free to comment. Thank you in advance for any idea that you can contribute.
