  1. You may need to wash sand as over the time it's can accumulate toxic underlayer specially if it from DSB. By you can reserved some top layer to seed it later.
  2. Hi all I have red/orange pratas for bid. I had this pratas for around 6 months from GO. The size is aroud 7" when open.   5. Thank you for your info. Yes currently I use DI water. just want to know how to export it naturally.
  6. Need help for all of you here. As this tank I try to make it simple to maintain and low cost. I opt to go for natural filtering by using DSB in sump and macro algae to export NO3. (This is quite successful in my 5 feet tank). I under stand that PO4 also export by macro algae or some of plant. How about Silicate is this need to be concern? I not sure how Silicate import to close system. If introduce by sand or some things that we use to setup. Then run some filter media for firt few month to export should be ok. But if it need to continue export like NO3 or PO4. Do we have any natural way to control it? or it not in concern at all if both NO3 and PO4 in control

  11. Your concern noted. This is firsting I did tested for off the pump. and it can hold all water that flow back. Just drill small hold at return pipe just below water level, will do the trick.

  14. Here Is Sump DIY it from previous main tank. Plan to go for plenum DSB. Now wait for the sand to be ready to put in. And lighting yes it's LED. This Led from my previous project. it 9 x 3W coolwhite and 12 x 3W blue
