2 more things you can't do with iPhone. 1. No java. Which also means you can't do Internet banking due to non support for java applets. 2. Cannot view flash!
-
Maybe we should just do a simple poll. Who's using what phone. I'm pretty sure iPhone is amongst the top 2, if not top. The other being ermmm nokia? Will be interesting to see the results.

Let me try to list down the cons for you. These are personal encounters. 1. Too common. Just like those days. Ericsson 688 or nokia 3120. 2. Extremely lousy battery life. And unlike other phones, the concept of spare battery means adding an extra "piggyback" case. Not a 1-1 swap. 3. Cannot bluetooth images/videos/any other files to other bluetooth enabled phones, other than iPhones. This is an issue if u like to share photos with friends/family. 4. Songs. Unlike the pc format, music can Only be transferred via iTunes. Maybe I'm not a regular user, but I do have difficulties transferring "selected" songs directly from pc to phone. Had to create a playlist in iTunes before transfer. Read: extra step! 5. You are only given up to 5 machines to sync up ur iPhone or songs, files transfer. Anymore, data on phone will be wiped out and overwritten. Most people don't know they can sync up to 5 (like me). 6. Must be realistic, with an iPhone, it's virtually impossible to be using it for SMS only. Get prepared to spend travelling time playing games/surfing Internet (like what I'm doing now on the way to work...) Others have may issues that I've not encountered. But if u r ready foe the above, then u will surely enjoy the iPhone, and more importantly, all the free apps that comes along! That's what, IMHO, made it such a cult product.

hmm... good point! i've not met one too... so far, only know those who try to 'resist' it... all turn converts after trying it. Oh yes, if you like to SMS while driving, then this is NOT a phone for you. but truth be told, the battery life is really something that irritates me... Jacky: i'm reserving my vote, coz he didn't indicate his 'usage' preference...

1) if you love downloading new apps/games/utilities - iPhone FOR SURE! No one else comes close. Really, it is that easy and fuss-free! Even the N97... trust me, i'm was one of those 'die-hard' Nokia fan, who insisted getting the N97 on the day 3GS was made available in SG. End up selling it within 1 month. In fact, it is so user-friendly, i find myself being an unwilling iPhone evangelist. 2) iPhone = long battery life? you are probably the first person i know who says this... Do you mean hours used before charging or before you change the physical battery? If it's the former, then you're sooooo wrong. iPhone is very well known to be a battery sucker! Charge AT LEAST once aday. Get prepared to buy 1 more charging/data cable for your office. Or if you're doing sales and drive around, get a car kit. You WILL NEED it. If it's the latter, then don't worry, before you change the iPhone's battery, you would be buying the newer version of iPhone... 3) Blackberry: do you really NEED to be 'informed' via email even when you're on the move? If for business use, sure... otherwise, quite unnecessary. Nokia E71 will probably do the trick. Oh touch-screen... think Omnia II? But really... if you want touch-screen... don't need to look anywhere else... iPhone is THE ONE. the little screen transition between applications makes it look cool. Plus all those '3rd party' apps... way too cool... and if you jail-break the phone... the possibilities are ENDLESS! However, it's really way too common... >50% of my friends are on iPhone. Back in the office, my division alone, 10 out of 12 of us are iPhone users... Finding a charging cable is so much easier these days... alternatively, i heard the new generation android phone is pretty decent... Hope this helps...

tsk tsk tsk... so what i heard about you being a RICH man is true??? jokes aside, yes, CNY shipment coming, im sure it's going to 'RED RED' time...

thanks mate... from various places... CF, Iwarna, Ktizo, reefers... some have been a few months old, some barely few days... (super tiny size, but there goes my boy's milk powder money) I'm looking for yellow (just like everyone else), red... of coz, multi-coloured as well... do let me know if anyone's selling...

yo Peter, i have tried using one of these 'industrial grade' filters sometime back. You are absolutely right, it makes the water ULTRA clean. The downside is that it chokes up very easily and may create a 'flood'. Especially if the 'open' end of the sock is out of the sump tank or can topple out of the sump... It almost happened to me, and i decided to be safe and not sorry. but if you do regular cleaning of the sock, then not a problem at all. btw: nice tank dude!

haha... watching it feels like watching a 'blue film'... nice setup! would be really great to see the tank in Full Colour...

hahaha... but i guess not when they are bristleworm??

Resisted having rics for quite a few months/year... coz i always feel that Rics are overpriced. But alas... finally caved in to influence and temptation... Started a mini collection... again... nothing comparable to the RICs siaos (hey, you guys know who you are...) Just want to try different colour variations... Now still very sparse, hoping they will grow soon... Quite encouraged, as 1 orange piece just split into 2... Photo by iPhone (and one very shaky hand... thus the very blur pix)

in soccer terms: Chopsticks 1 Bristleworm 0 (Fatal error)

like what jacky said... night hunters! haha.. have been waiting in ambush for this pest for the longest time... finally it exposed itself too much for too long, and i went in with a pair of chopsticks in 1 swift motion and picked it right out from the rocks. It's not difficult when it's over 10cm long. What more, this piece is lurking just around the rics...

Hey bro! Early bird catches the worm huh! Good tank... Nice to see the tank pix! more pix more pix... how abt showing the 'internal organs'? btw: as promised, i've set aside some 'stuff' for you! And let's kopi when u'r around the east...

PM with more details if you're keen to exchange or purchase my Tunzes. Hopefully can find a good condition MP40W or good offer for my Tunze package, else will keep everything.

yo Lemon, the new scape definitely feels a lot roomier! though 'lesser' space for corals, i'm sure you'll can fill them up with 'gems'. hope i'm not throwing a wet blanket, but visually, does it feel 'heavier' on the left? nonetheless, still a very improvement over the old one.

rics prices at ktizo: 1 for 4 red notes 2 for 7.5 red notes 3 for 10 red notes not much variety left though... majority orange + a couple of greens...

Have 1 suggestion to improve user experience. To include a "Today's most viewed topics" section after login. This is similar to the "view new posts" function, except it's not about the most recent post, but the hottest topic of the day (number of postings for the day). It will provide daily visitors to know what are the hottest topics in discussion for the day. Click on the subject Title will then lead users into the topic directly. E.g. ++++++ Top 10 topics for 28 January 2010 +++++++++ Hot topic 1 - Subject Title 1 - # of postings today (or page views?) Hot topic 2 - Subject Title 2 - # of postings today (or page views?) Hot topic 3.... so on and so forth... recommend to end around top 5 or top 10 topics.... For your consideration... wilson
