Very nice tank. Like the colours and scape! Skimmerless! Well done. And a very good idea on the diy fluidized reactor. I have a 3 stage lying around doing nothing! Time to recycle.

I was just tryin to be polite. I know ur not offended. If u r, tsk tsk. For my boy? No lah, more for the boy in me! I'm having a lot of wild ideas lately. Guess I will just hold on and let the main tank stabilize for now.

Oops. Pai Sei. It was just meant to be a joke. Always nice to see a new setup. What more for a 4yr old. Good bonding hobby! +1 for being such a thoughtful parent!

Great tank and the owner has a even greater personality! Always nice to meet him. Looks very serious hor, but a really friendly guy once he starts talking abt reefing!

today finally decided to take a FTS and RTS... as you can see, there's still 1 fish surviving... the super strong leopard wrasse! commando one... Front Tank Shot: 23 May 2010 The big bubble and rics managed to add some colours to the tank. Right Tank Shot: 23 May 2010 During the rescape last month, removed like a ton of Live Rocks! hehe. So the new scape has loads of swimming space. With the demise of some of the corals, guess their space need to be filled up. Any suggestions?

I've got a few baby plates dropped out from the main colony. But then again, ur tank is sps one leh. Lol. How's the sps doing in ur tank man? Haven't had the chance to visit ur tank. Should have stabilized by now? I still haven hooked up the cr. The media still in the container man.
-
luckily for you, it is a baby size one! Abt 5 cents coin size.

thanks Jacky! I'm happy to see my tank again. Am glad that it's not as bad as I feared. It's a pity we are at opposite ends of the island, else i'm sure we can meet often like Ray and eniram. Thanks for the offer, I still have some from reborn previously. Luckily those went into main tank and not tub man! But I heard u recently expanded zoas collection aggressively man! Haha. And Ray too. No probs. We can arrange that soon. I'll try to bring some of mine too. Plates u interested? Bright green tips with pink mouth?
-
Nicely done. Did u do the casing urself too. Can advice (or pm) what's the cost of doin up something like this?

say again?? TOTM??? Hahaha. You mean disaster of the month? Hahaha. No lah, I dont think that's my ambition. I just enjoy the hobby. My satisfaction comes from seein the corals propogate and fish mate. So it's technically like you correctly put it, it's a slow rebuilding process, but not totm lah. Lol. Hey, saw ur new sump setup! Power! Must see it in person one day. I think recently you guys had some tank visit sessions huh. Why must I be away??? Next one I try to join u guys. Oh, my kid hasn't been in good health since turn of the year. I think I must have spent over $1.5k on doctor and medication since. Dunno if it's due to my marine hobby leh.

Anyway, it's just one of those painful episode. April/May didn't weren't good for me in Marine sense. First was the rescape boo boo, then now the Murphy's visit. But in return, I had one of my best ever holidays. As I'm posting using iPhone at my in laws place, I can't post photos. Will share some photos later tonight. First priority is to let the tank mature again. All corals in main tank are looking good. Added a new bulb (Ikea) for algae scrubber. Reinstated the deltec skimmer. Used a new filter bag to trap dirt. Boy, it's cheap and good. Will share more later. Also did a round of water change abt 30litres. Oh yes, forgot to add, lost about 10rics and a self-propogating plate coral too. Cedric, thanks for the gift yeah! It does help to alleviate some pain. Super nice! Hopefully I can propogate them as fast as you! I'll frag some of my version and pass to you another day. Ray: hope you like the gift yah! Jacky: very glad to see you back! Hopefully can meet all you folks in some chiong shipment days soon! It's good to be back!

Hi guys. It's good to be back. Spent 2 days clearing up the mess at home and recovering from jetlag. Back to work too. But didn't enjoy that. Wanted to do shopping this weekend, but spent some valuable time with my kid as he's sick. Spent corals $ on his medication instead. Cannot believe that it costs almost $300!!??!! Main tank is in good condition except lots of grass growing. So time to look for a new tang. Quick update on the situation: I had a blue tub holding some corals and all Fish. Some rics and zoas were transferred to main tank before I travelled as those are more hardy. My big cateye bubble was also transferred. And that proved to be a good move cos murphy (now my good friend) visited the blue tub and took most of the stuff with him. The standby chiller hooked to the tub had it's thermostat fried during the last weekend of my trip. Sending water temp down to 15 degrees, possibly lower. By the time Ray got to my place, it was disaster recovery. Condensation happened and my floor was flooded with water. The super cold water killed almost everything, including a rare and super colourful cynarina. Sadness. Thank to Ray, who tirelessly cleaned up the mess for me without me going back to a stinking and flooded home. Items now with Murphy: 2 cynarinas (luminous green and multi coloured) duncans 50% of zoas 50% of mushies candy cane bright green mini bubble red/lime green fused monti plate chilli pepper monti radioactive birdnest pink pointed birdnest haiya all sps lah. Obviously! Haha. Fish wise: 1x Atlantic blue tang (almost 2 yrs old) 1x cleaner wrasse (2+ yrs old) 1x mandarin (2+ yrs old) 1x pipefish (1+ yrs old) 1x Kole tang (2 yrs old) 1x cleaner shrimp The surprising survivors: super sun: with all it's heads intact, no injury! 5x rhizos: no injuries too. Fire shrimp: survived but dun looked too good. Cleaner shrimp: actively feeding and scavaging for food. Leopard wrasse: over 2 yrs old and going on strong! Some zoas (in super bad shape)

totally agree! It's just simply too amazing! And it's scary too, cos my place is just 5mins (probably less) from his. It's actually feels like I'm visiting a gems-only lfs.

Hey. Heard abt what? I have to say I made a lot of good buddies here! My tank is still in good condition! Oh yes. Most corals are flourishing (those that were already in main tank). For those who were privy to the "information". Let's just keep it privi. I'll update on those that Murphy took with him later tonight or tomorrow. I can't wait to go shopping again. In fact I bought some plates on the day I touched down. Hehe. Gosh, wish there were more stuff to buy. Hands itchy liao, must visit farms tmrw and Sunday!!!

Yep. It's amazing! Bro Hwee, seems like the growth is very fast man. Will arrange to pick up the ph meter over weekend man. Can return u yours too.
