Not literally expired dude. The salt was hardened. Like rock solid. Need to scrap it off. Not the usual soft feel.

Sorry to hear this Vincent. Do a quick check on your KH. Not sure if it's QC problem or some shop selling "expired" TM salt, I suffered same thing last month. 2 colonies STN. Reason: sudden drop of Kh (during water change).. I measured the new saltmix, and kh reading was a low 3! And ca only 250++. As a result my tank's Kh is only 6... Very bad. I kinda gave away the entire bucket of salt. Btw I have a ready frag of chilling pepper, stable and growing. Let me know if you need k.

Actually I haven't been visiting LFS for the past 1 month. new stuff are mostly from exchange. And yup, look forward to more exchange programs with ya bro. Hahaha. Indeed it is. The Dino eggs from you are colouring up nicely, but the blue/red (superman??) is somewhat dull in colours(though encrusting). Will share pic with you over the next few days after I take the photos.

If ur nitrate/phosphate/salinity/temperature levels are under control, then you should monitor kh, calcium and magnesium. You may like to consider using salifert test kits. If you are doing regular water change, then trace elements are not a concern. They are trace elements afterall. Unless you have a heavily stocked tank. Hope this helps.
