lemon, i always wondered how anyone can actually remember all these scientific names! APparently you can! haha.. Goodjob. Btw, can you help me ID this coral in blue?? (sorry for the blur pix) Is this xenia? clove? or wth is that?? and it grows very fast! I think it's got 8 polyps though... so not xenia??
-
Btw: Jeremy, i've got the coral. It's in the tank already. Thanks man. It looks damn luminous! Definitely better than the one i was supposed to buy! Dunno if it's frogspawn or something else... the tip looks very different.
-
yo Jack, Appreciate you visiting my tank thread... pls give your comments to help improve the tank.
-
you know why??? coz you set the standard so HIGH buddy. To be honest, if you see my stuff, all common one hor! dun have power names. Still waiting to exchange with something i have. Both you are Ray willing to spend on zoas sia... i scared leh. actually i only bought a few new things. Maybe i'm spending to make myself feel better after the crash-lost. Those pictures i posted, are pretty much everything i have... (show hand le). Now will let the tank stabilise (yah right! haha)
-
i learn from mistakes, nowadays, i usually fragged out some zoas and keep them separated. Just in case something happens to the main colony, there's alternative. Also can use them to exchange or pass to friends. And those rows of frag plugs... interestingly amongst them, i have zoas, skin polyps and a red colour algae (think its red bamboo).
-
Some other shots as well. Bought some GSPs too, inspired by Bro Hwee's superb carpet wall! THinking of building a GSP branch. But they ain't opened yet (hopefully they will, and can grow well).
-
My First-ever Gorgonian... actually this piece was in really bad shape (ah beng) when i bought it... but i desperately wanted something to fill the front corner of the tank. The MP40 blowing directly at it, makes it look wavy... Now the tank looks alive. Fortunately, polyps are opened. Flooding of tank is in the order! woo hoo... There's this super long orange gorgonian in the foreground as well. White polyps... this piece is almost 3.5 to 4 feet long... dunno how to put in my 2.5 feet tank sia. it's like all curled up now.
-
1 Mushy (think it's a rhodactics) that i bought today! A must-have (for me lah, i'm a sucker for mushroom) purple/green. And my FIRST mini carpet anemone.. lime green (believe me, this was a hitch hiker!)
-
Bro... u dunno how many shots i took to get them! hahaha. I'll be honest, these have gotta do a little with luck. Not sure if they'll help you, but here are my settings: High ISO (400 or 800), today i used the fixed lens, 50mm. f/1.8. (mostly using the f/2.8, except for 1 that i wanted deep DOF) Aperture Priority. So fairly straight forward. Btw, i'm awaiting the photography workshop to learn from the experts!!!

More zoas (all rescued from previous tank) thank goodness i transferred them from the blue tub... but i still lost some others. oh well... life goes on.
-
Found these deep orange super sun... still cant tell colours of the tentacles yet. Left them in the sump for easy feeding... Took pictures of both pieces, hoping TLC can rescue the dying one.
-
ah... and now the MOST hardworking fella of the tank... Kole the coolie! The LRs were filled with hair algae and lots of detritus... guess what? This chap is simply cleaning everything off... He's just 4 days old in my tank.
-
certainly cute! bought them becoz they are ALWAYS the talk of the tank whenver i have young visitors... The first question usually is "where's nemo??" I'm still looking for that elusive nice RBTA... dun want them to be disturbing the other LPS.
-
hehe... cute fella... Yellow clown goby (1 week old) one of the rare occasions that it wonders out of its home and cling unto the glass. Home... on the pink monti... Always perching there, where it's got the full view.
-
Im absolutely in love with this neon goby! (4 days old) really active and always swimming against the current. superb bright blue colouration with distinct black lines... unfortunately very difficult to capture on camera. THis is about the best i can get.
-
managed to find time to take more pix today... first up: fishes... managed to take all the fish i have in the tank now. New True Percula Pair (< 1 week) Bought as 2 separate individual and managed to pair them immediately. Accidently released them today into the main tank. Sigh, wanted to pellet-train them, but i guess, now they're on their own.
-
woah... i see you've been quietly shopping huh... a lot of yummy stuff!

hi jxlex. nice setup. neat tank and nice scape. Buying of livestocks need some 'patience' and reading up... corals are pretty ok, can always rescape or sell them. Fishes are a little bit more troublesome, once in, it's difficult to catch them... if u have internet access on your mobile, ask the name of the fish and google it before buying. liveaquaria.com is a relatively good resource. Very good photography skills too! will visit here often. Oh, forgot to add, you may wish to add 2 more tubes of light... it'll help.

No matter how he tries, Jacky's thread never fails to be a TCSS thread. Even w/o P.T. anyway, Jacky, how can you say Ray and I are bad influence?? It's just him okie! I'm very 'controlled'. Today i chose 4 items from Iwarna and returned 2! Anyway, to update you, the neon goby is now coloured up super nice! No sign of white spots at all. It is very active too, you will never fail to see it clinging unto the tank wall. Pls go get yours fast! Very healthy... and while you are there, get the Blue Assessor too! 2 Blue Notes - (minus) 2 Red Notes.
-
I have! Both zoas and mushies. U can come and take ur pick. Plus I want the red face with green skirt zoas too. Can?
-
Why not PL bro? T5 usually 2' long.
-
Must read his "disclaimer" bro. He said, "my girl picked this, that, this, that plus the super sun. Luckily never pick sunflower." It's "not a frag tank". Sure it's not. We can tell right.
-
if u wanna go GO let me know k... who knows, i may have a change in mind. anyway, gotta sleep liao. Must listen to doc's advice... sleep early, drink more water, exercise more! reduce salt intake... very important!
-
hahaha... i fully agree with you about the 'owner part'. Coz mine also hide for the first few hours... i hope you tried my acclimitising method for the kole? After 1 day, it should be boldly pecking on LR. I'm no expert though, but if there are no other bigger fish, it should settle down very easily. And btw, you are 100/100 on the IDs. there're more, blue (4?) and yellow(3?) assessors. ORA almost all white clowns and all orange clowns. flame angels-Small (only 3). alot of purple tang, clown tangs. and how can i forget 3 Show-Size Achilles Tangs! Purple firefish.

ermm... technically im given "leave", but may be recall back to office. THus no more shopping (hehe, maybe if ktizo is open, i may just pop by) Otherwise, i'll just stay home and sleep sleep sleep... Doc says my BP is again near the borderline, gotta take care of my health again... (sianz) I have something on in the morning, if anything, it's probably after 12nn.
