Welcome to the hobby! I used to use the same valve control method and it worked for me. Just be sure to monitor the water level and ensure it doesn't choke. Look forward to the pics. And patience is the name of the game. Cycle the tank and add fish slowly.

Hahaha. This is hilarious. But quite true also. I recalled that once, together with you and Ray, we went l LFSing. Both ray and I went crazy over rics. While u were very focused on just SPS. I couldn't understand why? How could u not be interested (not the least bit) to at least look and see. But now, that I'm somewhat, in your shoes. I kinda figured out why!! Btw, it was just barely 5 months since I started SPS, I'm still in the beginner stage, probably went a little overdrive looking at the past few pictures. And tempted to dig out old photos showing "before and after".. One learning is placement of the coral according to their individual needs (light/flow/competition).. Resistance is futile, come join us in the dark side.

yeah... you are right (again!) This is my 2nd cyphastrea... am looking out to collect other colouration. another pix (this time top-down) i actually spell them as cypestrea. hahaha... the FTS is quite crap actually... the frag racks are blocking different colour/layers of monti plates at the back of the tank. am taking this holiday to clean up the frag rack and keep the main tank neater.

Some existing zoas... noticed very good growth on the yellow face and sunkist... Still resisting the temptation to frag them.

Seems like Powermodule has the Power to change some coral colours... (for the better i hope)

You using dead rocks?? Slowly cycle the tank. It'll help to stabilize the setup. Have fun.
