Indeed, this chap has been ich-free since day 1. And err no QT/ whatever dip. Just Acclimitise with drip method in 30mins and dump in.

  7. One last post abt dosing pump.. I'm not a CR guy, cos the tuning drives me nuts! without dosing pump, I would never have sustained the SPS bug. I think it's just over 1 year by now since going into a predominantly SPS setup. If HK cheaper and luggage permits, sure. But Petmart selling quite cheap ah. So u may wanna call them first. I'm not sure abt other brands of dosing pumps, but the BM one has been serving me well for the past 12monrhs.
  8. Super! Can reserve the queen when it out grows ur tank?? Haha. Ok I shall not put the cart before the horse. Catcha soon bro. Going to zonk out. Long weekend ahead!! Woo hoo.
  9. I'm using exact same setup as zac. First 3 channels for kh,ca and Mg. After ensuring that the system is stable, I bought a 4 channel extension, but only using 1 channel for fw topup. Which is an excellent choice, as i was battling with ever-rising salinity level. Now it doses almost 1litre per day. It's crazy! 3 other channels remain un-used.
  10. So you heard as well huh. What will be ur first fish? Or is it already in your tank??
  11. He does lurk around sometimes. But usually guest appearance one lah. Box fish huh.. Cute. See, it's time to setup 2 tanks lah. Do a proper sump tank with 2 display tank. No regrets. Just another set of lights and wavemakers mah. But good move on running GFO at the start. Remove all the nasty silicate and phosphate out before it gets into your rocks.
  12. Don't mind my curiosity, but why the need to draw water out using dosing pump? It's a little too slow isn't it? You can consider using one spare channel to do fresh water top-up. Nice setup! Very good move to use electronics to help maintain consistent water parameter. you will be rewarded with good SPS growth very soon. Btw that is a radioactive birdnest. Doesn't really require high light.
  13. Haha. Pls don't say old leh. We are not that far apart u know. Thanks for your help. How's the cycling coming along? Ready for shopping already? Don't worry too much about the po4. A little bit of nutrient is actually good for SPS. I'm still battling po4, but it appears that SPS are growing steadily.
  14. Jacky, my order is actually the alk meter.
  15. Yo Jacky, let me know when you have more details (pricing) for the alk tester. It looks like a breeze to use.
  16. Nicely done! All ready now for the "dark side"... Larry, can pm me the damage to wallet for the compressor?
  17. Super scape as usual. Go slow and enjoy the hobby yeah? Btw did u get any dosing device? Or relying on water change? P/s: do some review of the test kits when you use them? I bought a set at aquarama but haven't open it. Still relying on the salifert.
  18. Thanks bro. Hopefully the corals can grow out without killing each other.
  19. Allan, it's a frag tank cos it contains frags from main tank and those I bought from reefers. Hopefully, it can be considered as supplementary tank. Haha. Your seahorse tank is also turnin out very colorful as well.
  20. Kiko, don't be mistaken, it was setup as a frag tank, originally with frag racks, since I got the "tree" (courtesy of Jeremy), the concept started to change. Haha. Surprisingly the pink colours are much brighter in this tank than the main tank despite sharing the same sump. Yes sir, frags are always ready for you. The yellow BN is an extremely fast grower and colours well under bright lights. Body turns orange, tips yellow and polyps are purplish. Anytime if I pop over or when u come by. Maybe next weekend?
  21. Thanks uncle mike. The tank still needs some clean up. Very messy now. Haha. The so-called "frag tank" became a collection of frags. Indeed that branching tree LR is now the focal point. Now that the flow is somewhat settled for the SPS, I can spend more time to look into the lighting and think of what else to add to the tank. Operation "clean-up" is definitely in the works.
  22. Haven't been shopping much, thus not much update. Been trying out different wave permutations for my so-call frag tank (which is a small 24"x24"x20") connected to the main tank's sump. A) 1x6025 with nano wavebox 2x6025 C) mp40 with nano wavebox D) mp40 + 1x6025 All with different results. Now I'm just happy with a single mp 40. Running on short pulse mode. Some video to share (see the wave movements in the first few seconds).
  23. Thanks tench. (Opps - this reply is over 3 months late)
