  5. Larry, I'm also planning to use biopellets. In fact am running during cycling... not sure if that's the right thing to do though. Haha.. Gary, too busy to start a thread. But I will, to share my experience...
  6. Agree... bare bottom will not be a nitrate factory. Can siphon out dirt much easier.
  7. Sir Crispin, I'm convinced that I must drop by your place the moment I'm available this week. Apologies for the delay as I have some urgent family matters to settle these few days. Saturday would be the opportune day to visit ya. Of course, at a time convenient for ya.
  8. I found a crab about 50c coin size shell (alive) and caught it. Some palys are also opening up. Does this mean cycling is done?? Hmmm...

  9. Haha. Paul, mine is just using a simple home use equipment. Nothing fanciful. The only wow factor is probably the number of pipes running in the sump. Haha. Then again, yours is also quite complex. Btw good luck on the PBT. I've got one in my frag tank now. Hoping that it will be accustomed to the new tank when it's ready to stock. If you free, can drop by this coming weekend. Or perhaps the upcoming Monday holiday? We can go pasir ris after that. or better still, pay Cedric a visit. And that's when u get the real wow! Lol.

  11. dear sir, may i have some rocks to grace my new tank pls? Am looking for 2/3 large size ones.
  12. Bro, may I offer options 3 and 4.. 3) from ur option 1, using 2 pumps. The chiller can return to main tank instead of going to sump. This way you have 2 returns. It provides redundancy. 4) from ur option 2, using 1 bigger pump. You can try to T-off from the return pump. One goes to main, another goes to chiller. It's important to have a control valve to the chiller to control the flow rate. For me, I added another control valve at the return to main tank... this allows me to fully control the flow that I want.. unfortunately you don't have redundancy. If pump fails, game over. As to which is the best, I'm not sure... I am using option 4, plus another pump T-off to FR and return... this helps me provide redundancy plus good turnover. I'm running at close to 20x... No cookie cutter formula here, as it varies based on what you keep. hope u can find ur optimal flow.
  13. Dude, sure u can drop by... its cycling now. Nothing to see except rocks, water and some really nasty skimmate.. I made a boo boo when i started cycling... and now have to restart the clock... The FR is good! Just gimme a call when u wanna drop by. Weekends preferably...
  14. Bro... does this mean project not approved?? bring your better half to visit reefers with bigger tanks.. It may help..good luck for ur sales..
  15. 清者自清, 浊者自浊. Just to add, after 4 pages worth of postings... Anyone seen the original pic of the fish, despite many requests for it.
  16. So tedious to start a new tank thread. Can the forum have a feature to allow mobile device photo upload pls?

  17. Could lemon also be uncle jon??? Haha. Joking joking... Pls don't take me too seriously.. Doubt TS will be back, unless with a new nick. Lemon is the last person here that'll do a thing like this!
  18. Good Skimmer! Already producing skimmate.. eeks.. Remember to have clear view of ur Skimmer collection cup. Else you have to open the cabinet time check every time Bro. Nice!
  19. The Lightset looks good. Can show more details of the rail/bracket? Btw your patience is admirable, this hobby was made for you!
  20. Hi which tank maker did u spoke to? Did there say why don't need balong valve?
  21. Simply Inspirational bro... Agree with CedRichard.. let's do a monster build.
