think he left his number in the post above. -
No stress one ah... this is like troubleshooting you know... But first must know where to start to find it. Quite simply, get the test kits, if any of the values are higher than norm, then its time to fix that. If all parameters okie, try shifting the location of the zoas, sometimes a matter of inches will help. If all else fails, then throw it into my tank... Reefing is a journey, not a destination, take your time to figure things out, talk to ppl here, most are usually very encouraging... PM usually works better.

That's correct, live and let live. willing buyer, willing seller. cyder15: I agree with you also, we're disturbing others' thread. My apologies to MbmC. Upz for your sale.
-
Actually i beg to differ your statement of "mind your own business and the forum will be a better place". if you have time, and still have yesterday's TNP... go read the front page. In case you don't read the papers... remember the car accident which killed 2 students at old upper thomson road? An elderly man did exactly what you termed as 'mind his own business', and 2 now kids are dead... coz he just stood there and watch, without even lifting a finger to dial for ambulance or police. Just imagine if you are relatives/friends of the 2 students who didnt make it! "Mind your own business"? However, i do apologise if this jeopardises MbmC's sale. But i guess it's only fellow reefer's duty to help 'highlight' certain issues where required. Just like if you needed help, fellow reefers will not, in your words, "mind their own business" and leave you in a lurge! This to me, is what makes the forum a better place. Point to ponder: Isn't one refractometer enough? Two is luxury. Taking a third FOC, then selling it off is ___________??
-
Just read a very interesting post, prompted me to ask these questions: 1) Just curious... how many of you guys own 2 refractometers at the same time?? 2) If you do, will you take a 3rd one even if someone is giving out for FOC (Gift with purchase of sumpthing) 3) If you take, will you sell your existing ones (almost immediately after you collected the free one)?

let me know if you're arranging for bulk purchase hor... i'm also looking for some to do up my denitrator. (abt 1-1.5kg needed)
-
I figured, since he's using a more powerful power (than required), it should be okie... (i hope). soul.... how? wake up liao not? time to put the pump to test!!!
-
Bloody holly molly! No wonder you didn't reply my sms. Still kooning sia! You're really good at this DIY shit yah! Looks good, must give me update, i really hope the pump will help! Coz it's sitting in my pail for like 2 weeks unused! Waste money right? Thanks for the offer for doing up the denitrator, now i need to ensure it can be used outsump, else dun even think. Update me ah!!!
-
like i said bro, it's like maciam choosing between the devil or the deep blue sea, both ways also die. i think still can kinda manage for now... unless someone has a FREE pump to give! haha

Unless you are around the west, else definitely not worth the petrol. NSW doesn't really guarantee that your LPS and corals wun stress... coz you never know what's in it. But like you, i would prefer to NSW, save lotsa time. -
Guess either i upgrade to more powerful pump (which consumes more power) or run the rio insump, consume more chiller power... Devil or deep blue sea...

Don't play play ah... he old man, but still very sharp okie... don't even try to con him... he'll scold you big time! Besides, his sons are also there... -
Maybe my FR is lousy one (from the looks of it, it's quite an old model very 'used')... coz only one side of the beads are like 'moving' very slowly. I'm running a really small pump, resun, 500-600l/h. Aquabee 5000> T-off to return and chiller (maybe i should do another T-off to the FR??) Rio 20> powering beckett skimmer Am planning to get a cheapo dolphin pump to run T-off to 2 FRs, one for Sorb4, another for Carbon. Need some advice here, can the Rio 20 be placed outsump? I'm kinda planning to take out the skimmer and Rio, coz it seems like the Rio is emitting alot of heat. This way, my sump can be used to do DSB + plant some mangroves... Am trying to save some energy bills here... Can't afford to have the chiller kick in too often. Noted that my chiller needs 1 hour to cool down 1 degree.
-
Thanks Sunny/Roger.... I guess i'm using too low power pump to drive my Po4-FR, only some parts of the beads moving... i find my PO4 a little high... Time to upgrade liao. Maybe need to get a bigger FR.

hmm... works just like how the video huh... Hope the MH works for your tank and LS...
-
Small world jervis, i'll also be travelling to Japan... going 1-12mar, guess i probably will not be able to catch sakura (but shopping and eating sashimi and ramen!) Time to look for help to manage the tank and feed LS while im gone... sigh... let's hope they survive.
-
errr... becoz im working?? haha... Super bz lately man, no time to buy anything... but no worries, i think by end this week, should have another 2 items coming right up. Yday night was at a fellow reefer's place till like 2plus in the morning! Got home around 3am. After that watch liverpool kick some italian bu**! By the time i sleep, can hear birds chirping liao. Shucks man, when i got home last night, even the moonlight was turned off liao, so didn't do any feeding. This morning, woke up so freaking late... just showered and rush out of the house, didn't feed again! Tonight gotta do 'entertain client'! Guess my fishes/corals are really suffering! Must teach wifey to feed them soon, else they'll all starve to death. One question: to those who use Sorb4, how do you find it ah?
-
I could be wrong, but it seems like your cup coral is not opening as well. A few troubleshooting questions: 1) What's your water temp? 2) What's your nitrate/phosphate levels? 3) maybe you can put them where the water flow is slightly better (Not super strong, but sufficient) 4) Yes, it could be the lemon peel. I personally had to remove my half black angel as it nipped on my buttons as well. This resulted in the buttons in 'closed' mode most of the time. Guess that should give us some insights.... hope this helps...

Bro, i when i started my tank, i bought 3 jerry cans of NSW from ah pek. It's commonly known as T95 (It's in seletar farm 4 i think). I'm assuming u drive. 1) Take CTE > SLE 2) Exit at Jalan Kayu/Seletar (they're the same exit, the sign will read both) 3) Drive towards the roti prata place (or AM), you gotta pass AM... 4) After which, you'll drive past a Mobil station on your right. 5) After that, turn right at the 2nd junction. Note: when you make the turn, you should see a nursery at the junction. (NOT those for kids!!! For plants yah...) After you turn into the road, the nursery MUST be on your left. If it's not, then it's a wrong turn you made. 6) Drive straight down the bumpy roads, it's a farm, so dun expect nice smooth road. You'll see lotsa fish farm flanking you on both sides. 7) About 300m down, go real slow, you'll see a small black/blue signboard on your left that says "Marine 95" or "95 Marine" in yellow text. Remember, the trick is go slow, and look out for a small signboard, the size about A3 landscape size. 8) Drive up an even more bumpy slope, you'll reach T95. (If your car is lowered, then dun bother, just park outside and walk up the slope, but i just wonder how you're going to lug the jerry down the slope into your car. hahaha) 9) Bring cash there, no NETS or CREDIT! He has got lotsa corals and fish (hey, it's a farm, not shop)... And sometimes, he'll sell stuff in his show tank... hehe... Look for the very old ah pek in specs, be nice to him... he's a very nice person... Try to converse with him in Hokkien, it'll help a lot. Previously, I borrowed 3 jerry cans for him, which he T-Loaned me for about a week. At a small nominal deposit (he complained that he used to be a nice person and loan it out, but they never came back!) Price: One full jerry can - $3 only!!! (I would assume its a 20l jerry can) + whatever fee he wants to collect from you as deposit. -
tsk tsk tsk... how can all of these be considered as a simple reef? it looks real hot!

hehe, thanx bro. reefing is a journey, not a destination right? So yah, have to 'slowly' play. i like the fact that everyday, i add a little something... spot some new stuff growing... and just 10 mins ago, i found some new stuff growing on the LR, but can't really take a good pix, so we'll just wait and see. I enjoy LFSing too much... im now looking for some really nice mushies and zoas. The 2 lobos are now opening bigger and bigger, im afraid i may have to sell the one that's purple tip + green body. (that piece has 3 heads, and its really huge piece). Will sell when offered irresistible price. haha! Lobo RHS of tank Lobo FTS And finally managed to get a decent shot of the anthias It's a female squareback anthias.

hmm... bro, i think you have a weird hobby like me... but usually i'll use thongs. But yes, i think 2ft is just about right, any deeper, gonna have major problem reaching the bottom of the tank.
