Some new equipment... Added a 2nd hand ozoniser (Aquamedic) protected by ziplock bag! - Have a question for those using the same one, there're 2 outputs... do i need to seal off one of it?? I'm currently connecting one of the output into the Skimmer input. This, made controlling lighting timing so much easier. One single timer, controlling 3 separate outputs. 15 programmable settings. (Now i'm only using 3). Superb value for money! (Thanks to sonic_frank for introducing this wonderful piece of equipment). Previously using 3 x analogue timers to control Moonlight, T5 and MH... all running separately, different timing circuits... Now, all 3 running on the same timing circuit, no more missing overlaps.

Actually, mine's made up of many many small pieces of mushies, i just place them onto different pieces of LR. Quite coincidently, i went to GO this afternoon (hehe, for the first time), and was very impressed with his LPS stocks. Saw the rock that you mentioned. Very nice... all the assorted mushies on one rock, very colourful, very similar to mine... But i didn't ask him how much la. (come to think of it, i should have ah... check out 'market price') Another first... And i bought my first SPS there. A green table acro. Not sure if it's a good sign, it was slime-ing for awhile when i placed it in tank... after about 30 mins, it stopped... and the polyps open... Share some pix... (taken with N95)

Hey RX, you're too kind lah! Anyway, like i told bro soul, anthias, dunno why, dun like my tank leh. Mine was okie for awhile, feeding alittle, then suddenly decided to do a Chee S00n Ju@n, and go on hunger strike... after that, just die to natural death. Sigh. My Suns LOVE your food man! the Super Sun is opening during the day liao, you must drop by my place one of these days and see it. The fish are also feeding on it. I'll try for a couple more weeks, and will update again. Thanks again man! Oh forgot to add, save your blue staghorn for me hor... i'm slowly getting my tank SPS-ed.
-
Hmm... but i find the colouration of PT very nice, thought it'll blend well in the tank. Anyway, i've got bad experiences with Anthias, as much as i love their colours, think i'll 'pass' on them. Sigh, wrasse, also not really my cup of tea. (now am thinking of catching the ruby head, coz it's getting fatter and fatter liao)... haha.

Priority given to those who can collect all (and tonight)... If take all, i'll throw in some free zoas for ya! (will try to frag some out later). (bright orange face + luminous green mouth).

Hi All, Slowly upgrading to SPS, thus need to clear my some of my space-taking LPS, all in superb condition! Not FCFS, only for forumers whose tanks are ready. 1) Lime green favia (been with me since the beginning of my tank) - bought from reliable LFS. Selling with regrets, as it's one of my first LPS, but no choice, really need to clear space. Selling now $25 only! (approx. 4" diameter, semi-spherehical shape). 2) Cup Coral (been with me for about 1 month, bought from fellow forumer. Selling now $15 only. Some slight injury inside the cup, but it is fed daily, all polyps opening beautifully. (view to decide) Very nice 'stem' makes placement very easy. 3) Rare multi-colour favia - to my best knowledge (after shopping at all the popular LFS in the centre and east regions of SG), i've never seen this piece at all. Fluffy piece. In very good condition! Colours include luminous green+red+purple+blue. Selling now: $50! Collection (if today, 10% discount)... no later than 11pm tonight @ bedok reservoir road. Please bring own pail, as i dun keep plastic bags at home. (CO not happy). Pls sms to 9767 1111 for those who can collect tonight. (wilson) Else pls PM me to make alternative arrangements. Please help, desperately need to clear space.

does a purple tang sounds good? haha... just not sure if my YT or BT will whack it lah. the BT has been pretty aggressive lately. my purple firefish has been having torn tail lately. I believe it is the BT's work. from the looks of it, i should be able to get 1 more tang or maybe 2 more smaller ones. I have some ideas to create more space for some corals liao... hopefully tomorrow can find time to shift a little. Otherwise, really have to sell some of the bigger LPS.

5ft reef tank planning - Part 1
wilsontantw replied to Softice's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Looking at your existing cabinet, am not sure if it's strong enough to handle the load of a 5footer (x 2' x 2'). Besides, it needs to have a proper weight distribution. Don't believe everything you read in the forum, or from your friends... speak to a few tank makers, get their opinions and suggestions. On the other hand, speaking from personal experience, unless you have exceptionally long arms, do not even think of anything more than 2'. I had very terrible backpain lately after doing 3 scaping in 2 weeks. It is realllllllllllllly, back-breaking experience. And my tank's a 2f height as well. With a properly designed cabinet, you should be able to get the proper 'balance' that you need. The remaining height keep it as ventilation/heat dissipation for your MH. How many MH do you need? strictly speaking... none. It depends on whether do you want fowlr or mixed reef. If the latter, than based on 5', i think you'll need about 2 or 3 units. If space allows, try to do an External Overflow System (EOS), this will ensure eaiser scaping. But one thing you should not forget, is that when you tank goes bigger, equipment also go bigger. Thus the sump space that you've allocated, is grossly insufficient. How about your skimmer? do you wanna put insump or outsump? Looking at the tank volume, you may need a skimmer that's really TALL and big. Chiller, hmm... i believe a tank of your size, will need a 0.5hp to 1hp chiller. Do you want to put your chiller in the cabinet? My suggestion is to leave it out, unless you have fans to help with the build-up of super hot air. Hope this helps. -
Ah... okie... coz i'm thinking of getting a tunze wavemaker for my tank... but dunno which model. mine's even smaller at 2.5x2x2... so i guess 6025 should be sufficient for me too?
-
Thought u're decomming everything... phew... good to hear that you're still going to keep it fowlr. (maybe you can try softies, it'll brighten up the tank. Btw, can i ask if u'r using 6055? or are those 6045?

Bro, where's ur collection location?

How to stick muschrooms to rock?
wilsontantw replied to archangylle's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
Strictly speaking, i do consider myself newbie in reefing... coz my previous marine tanks are just ermm... kindergarten standard (maciam masak masak). I only re-started the hobby in jan this year. so yes, newbie. I'm not being humble, but my tank is just beginning... so need to give it time to grow. I dunno why, but i hope my hobby is not to set up the tank, buy corals, then decomm after 6 months. I wish to keep for as long as i can... But it really takes a lot of discipline. So i'll 'train' myself. Back to the topic: i'll go hunt around for loctite liao... some of my corals are just dropping off like flies... (btw, is it easy to 'pluck' out the 'sticked' coral ah?)
