haha... not ur birthday leh... let me know if it's yours.. if i have any spares i'll also give you one. -
Hello fellow friends... I'm planning a rescape this weekend, and am in need of some more containers for my corals and fish while i rescape. Am asking to T-Loan some basic 2ft tanks 1 week (after use, i will wash up for you) and return by next weekend. Alternatively, if you have other suitable containers i will be glad to T-Loan them from you. p/s: if you have those 'pvc rings' that LFS use to hold corals, can i borrow them too? Preferably at the east side. thanks much.

how big is your tank and are you able to take care of the corals? how abt u share ur tank parameters and setup?? If you are confident of taking care of it, i have a favia to make your day. (been with me for almost 1 year, but im planning to make space for more stuff). collection is at bedok reservoir road... this weekend afternoon. If all is good, maybe (just maybe) i can throw in some GSP. -
yah, thats why i made up my mind, this weekend i will rescape the tank no matter what. am already planning the new scape, spare water, containers to contain corals, fish, rocks... Maciam like planning for water rationing... haha. eh, u interested in galaxy coral? im planning to let it go... and also a favia. Will be selling it cheap cheap. galaxy: spherical shape, abt 5" in diameter - $15 or your best offer Favia: spherical shape, abt 5" in diameter - $10 or your best offer (some minor RTN on the bottom due to placement on sandbed and lack of care... but it can recover if treated with TLC).
-
ah... so this is called orchid brain... nice. yeah, i wanted to put on sandbed, but it'll be done after the rescape. Else once it's on sandbed, i'l have to 'touched' the flesh, which i'm trying to avoid. strangely, at night, the brain is 'bloated', probably a sign that he doesn't like where he's positioned now... bo pian lah.. gotta wait for 1 more weekend.
-
hello... are you interested in common black clowns? i've got a pair... pix below: approx 2.5" and 2"... big eaters! they even eat nori (that's meant for my 4 Tangs).
-
it's up liao. cycling for 2 weeks, now LR in, cycling again. i think next week, he'll start the LFSing... hehe... so i better start to rescape my tank fast! prepare more space for shopping...
-
haha... no lah, not error... it's part of my cabinet... see: this link or scroll up and see post #352 It allows me to place some items in front of the tank temporarily...
-
that piece was bought for quite some time, think more than 5 months le. the golden ones quite rare, dun think i've seen before... My corals are currently being toppled all over the place by this irritating algae blenny. he's FAT now and has the strength to topple corals... Anyone has suggestions to 'fix' corals to LR? Super Glue (Aquaz?) or the 2 parts plasticine look-alike stuff...
-
Indeed you are right! Falling deeeeeper liao. Nevermind, if in future i selling, i'll let u know. I just seen my bro-in-law's new tank and the scaping... Very sleek. Clean yet enough place to put lotsa corals. No dead spots at all.

Today bought something very fun... Guess what??? After pampering myself with the corals... decided to get something that pampers them... Been trying to find a 2nd hand piece, but can't seemed to find it, so decided to get a brand new one. The Tunze Nano Wavebox Here're the parts: Can't really show how it works - no video capabilities, but i can tell you, the sound of waves - SHIOK! (not tidal waves ah, just swish-swosh-swish-swosh) But i think have to increase the voltage to get maximum effect - now running only on 14V dc... (2nd lowest). Can see the bubbles swaying and sun coral tentacles moving... maciam like real... Quite heart pain when i bought it, but realised this is one hobby that once you're in it, you just sink deeper and deeper. I still have the 6025 to run in tandem with 6206. It doesn't replace the wavemaker, just complements it. With this, I made a resolution to strip my tank of unnecessary fish and corals in my upcoming rescape... (am already running the layout in my mind everyday). Thus stay tuned for some really really cheap sale coming up within the next few days.

yeah, it's usually better to be placed on sand, but i'm not doing that just yet... coz my rescape is coming right up. If on sand, it's very difficult to move it without hurting the flesh. (my tank height is abt 2', and i got short arms!) in fact, i shouldn't even be buying anything until i rescape! but can't resist lah.
-
hehe... nice nice... so i did get it right yeah... zoas... check out my tank thread for an open brain i just bought. super colour. hmmm... think i need more red... my whole tank all green!
-
And this is batman watching over my mushies corner and super sun. on the other hand, i've got a favia to let go... Has been with me for a few months liao... Any reasonable offer will be considered... (but must have a tank that's ready for coral...)
-
managed to capture the sun feeding... Here's the feeding (one of the polyps is holding on to some sea monkey)... Here's the after feeding... all polyps extending like wild fire.
-
And finally, a little treat for the corals and fish today! (maybe i should make this a weekend thing)... Does anyone knows how to "DIY sea monkeys"??
-
And the 3rd coral bought today... A black sun... strangely, it's not the skinny type of sun coral... this one has THICK body stem. Stem colour is a little black/purplish with lime-green mouth... Not sure about the tentacles though... still waiting for it to open (and tempting it)...
-
Blue Mushroom... well, not exactly blue... this is more of cyan colour. These are still quite stress... one of the polyp dropped out and now it's inside the pile of rocks... lost! Some visual effect, created by Pablo the Powder Brown Tang.

The trap seems not working too well. Maybe the fish got smarter. Anyway, will just wait for a few more days. Today decided to drop by LFS to buy some NSW... wanted to buy a red prata for CNY, but realised that the red is quite dim maroonish... Or at least those left. Plus, how to pay more than 2 blue notes plus some red notes... bo pian... so drove around to find some 'cheaper' catch. Managed to see a few gems... i can't say which LFS, but they had sun corals as big as 2 fists combined. And it's super healthy. Going for less half of the price of the 'red' prata lor. In order to reward myself for waking up so early for LFSing... i decided to buy some corals... 1) Ultra Luminous Green Open Brain. How do i describe it's colour??? You gotta see it to believe it... now... how do maintain it? Any advice anyone?? It's got a little bluish coloration too.
-
orh!!!! you didnt keep your word!!! Eh, nowadays got lotsa big shipment... stock slowly... buy only the good stuff! This being said... i bought 3 new items today myself! hahaha... sadly, 1 is slowly 'expanding'... another is totally closed. the last one looks stress, but can slowly see the colouration... wanna guess what i bought too? i'll be posting some pix later... hehe. Waiting for yours! Let me guess... more zoassssss??? (you can save the kiss/hug, i'll prefer a frag).

So this is how i setup my fish trap. When the lights are turned off at night, i quickly set up my fish trap to look like this: On a closer look: here's what i did: 1) Setup a trap with magnet to hold it wherever i want it to be. 2) Place mirror at the bottom of the trap (this is usually used to trap $aggressive fish). 3) Tie a piece of LR to the trap door. 4) Prevent the trap door from opening by using a toothpick to hold the trap door open. 5) Test the trap door by removing the toothpick and test how fast it closes. 6) Since the trap is set up at night, the fish will not know of it's presence (or so i think)... 7) I placed some nori into the trap, hopefully the fish will be kuku enough to eat it tomorrow morning... Hopefully this works... (i need to catch: 1 PBrowntang, 1 ruby head wrasse, 3 spotted cardinals, 2 black clown fish)... Wish me luck...

wow... does that mean u are reserving the first frags of the blue mushies for me?? wah... very touched. THANK You in advance. One thing i've learnt with small tanks, is to choose our corals and fish carefully. Don't buy on impulse. So, i'll be doing a rescape by next weekend. Bro, raydiative offer to help me with the rescape, hopefully both of us can find some time next weekend. I should be selling some corals or giving some away.... stay tune for my upcoming sales/tank thread bro. I'll be making some space for the blue mushies. (p/s: can pm me where and how much u bought the blues mushies?)

here's what i heard from LFS owner... there's a way to differentiate between male and female. Look at their top of the fin (the part that's near the tail). The sharper fin = male, more curved one = female. Put them into a small pail. if they dun fight, then they'll successfully pair up. If they chase each other, then forget it, they'll never pair. You'll know in 5 mins. hope this helps.
