Weekly Update - 9th to 15th Feb 2009
wilsontantw replied to Regal's topic in Weekly LFS Stocks Report / LFS Info Centre
i think there's a north east line station near to race course road... also takes about 10mins to walk there... and Ray, you take the map, better give them credit... else ppl will say you steal ah! Or use maps.google.com (it helps, and even tells you step by step how to go from where you are). Now i only use this. -
she told me to quickly get the tank up! else baby got nothing to see, keep crying! muahaha... my mum recently commented this looks much nicer... lesser rock, dun look so 'blocky'.
-
depends on what you're looking for. if you need good advice in terms of setup, equipment, live stocks, maintenance and even aqua scaping... go give henry a call. What you are paying is not just the tank/cabinet. It's his expertise and experience. i must say, henry's pricing may not be lowest, but once you try him out, you'll know what i mean. Some advice from him can help you save from your future maintenance/replacing of livestocks.

The intense pink zoas is indeed from ML! I can't describe how pink is the pink, but let's just say it's... PINK There are 2 rocks of pink, the one left has about the same no. of polyps... good condition... There's another one not so intense pink but has other types of nice zoas! (worth your buck!) Oh, sun lovers, he's got a good shipment of normal suns... good condition and many many heads. Got some nice blastos and 1 octo left.
-
haha... i can't wait too! Did some basic parameter tests, looked okie, and i dumped half of the goodies in. (mushies and things that need lotsa light). Surprisingly, all corals started opening up nicely. (due to prolonged lack of lighting) Especially the rock of intense pink zoas and eagle eye. Sweet! Sadly, GSP still remained virgin. Bought a new rock of GSP and that too virgin! boring lah. hey, i think i may need your tub for another week, is that okie? (to slowly acclimatise the fish) I'll be dumping in the rest of the corals tonight, may need to do some slight rescape... coz no place to put the huge bubble coral. I may need to sell this if really can't find space. (any takers?) Willing to trade with very nice hammer/anchor/frogspawn or true octo (with topup).
-
oh... the goodies from reborn are just a few rocks of mushies + a GSP (yes, i'm giving it another shot!) this time round, i gave it a good blast of fresh + seawater before dumping into my tank. bro raydiative bought some interesting shrooms too, has some pink highlights... got potential if well taken care.
-
In the mean time, some new stuff i bought... Can't resist!!! 1) the one with yellow tips Some parts are damaged, but i believe can heal... 2) blasto? i think this is blasto lah... bluish/green (taken under 14kk + actinic + blue plus) 3) Last but definitely not the least! Intense Pink zoas! Pocket burn one big hole...
-
thanks dude... i'll definitely be trying that in the next few weeks.
-
Oh gosh, you location says CCK... i'm quite scared already... last week, went there twice and got lost once! took me 1.5 hrs from alexandra to reach bukit panjang... If your workplace is near town, i dun mind collecting (can let me know $$). Must wait for how long ah?
-
no lah, if u read the instruction booklet, it says you will need a powerhead to 'complement' the wavebox... partly becoz if use the 'feeding' mode or photocell, then you'll have NO circulation... cannot leh. Can't really comment on vortex, never use or try them before, but the wavebox seemed to give a pulse. btw: i think if u put the top end of the box above water, you should see another effect. (maybe better, im not sure... mine is slightly above water level). oh, the photocell, dun put too near the light source, it'll shorten it's lifespan... but somewhere near the bottom of the tank... (trial and error will get you there).
-
Does anyone has a 2' LED light Oceanus brand? (i think from Marine Life)... kindly PM me with details.
-
haha... SHIOK right? Am glad it's working for you bro! have you been using the photocell? I kinda like that function, when moonlight comes on, everything slows down... haha.. shiokers (but quite a price to pay man). Forgot to add, i think if you tune the voltage higher (from 14v to 20v) you can see a higher wave!

not pic quality, the funny thing is my Ca level is 500++, but the coraline not growing well. Realised that my PO4 is the main culprit (and alot of other factors as well). So took thus the re-scape + took the chance to clean up the entire tank.

makan liao lor... that's why took so long to post... i going to meet Zeee monster liao. tomorrow got meeting at 930. See ya... we confirm over SMS for tomorrow's lunch LFSing k? I need to go to Henry's to return him some stuff... (let me know if you keen) somehow i think he's rarely open during lunch, thus maybe after work i'll drop by instead.
-
bonus, i really dun wanna think lah. if it happens, then it'll really be a bonus. Nowadays, just keeping my job alone is a bonus liao. you know how bad our industry currently is...
-
Thanks Bro, and nice meeting you! Hey, remember to drop me an email to share with me more on what we spoke about yesterday! (and the frag, when it is ready... i hope to get my tank ready soon).
-
Yes, you are right! it's very much lower than previous one. 1) the main base rock is out of my tank.... so definitely lose some height. 2) I wish to create a 3rd level, so maybe that will be just a little higher than level 2. hehe.
-
haha... oh yah.. didn't notice that.. think i have 6 doors (7 if you include the one in the hood) - not shown in pix. No choice mah, need storage space + access to pipe-work.
-
the biggest piece is the one i took out lor! eh, that piece alone dunno take up how much space... Besides, all corals come with some rocks too, so it'll all add up. I realised that i need not stuff my tank so much LR, end up gotta deal with PO4 and all... SO now, it's clean clean for me! (btw: the trick is, leave some LR in the sump... hehe - most of my rocks are back in the tank or sump (except for 2 big flat pieces, hold some corals, so still in the tub). So i will still have 1 more 'level' to stack... total will have 3 levels + 1 column. Now need to create placement positions for 'branching' corals like hammers and true octo! Hmm... maybe need to change the 'strategy a little'.
-
This piece! i think weighs about 10kg (didn't get to measure it). But it's the size of a folded Straits Times... It's NOT a hollow piece, it's a whole rock (some call it boulder!) Had to remove it, coz i wanted a clean look and clear space to fish to swim and NO collection for detritus!

More shots: Angled FTS: this way you can see the different layers. FTS: 6025 is just temporary there, using it to blow all the dust... i'm planning to buy one more 6025... anyone selling?? The LR is not supposed to lean on the back panel, think the 6025 must have blown it off it's base. I have special plans for this 'vertical column', but lotsa hard work needed (and glue too)
