for that price, you can get a tunze 6025! please get at least a 6025 for your tank... think i saw someone selling a 6045 recently... you may need that for your 3 footer. my 2.5', i'm using 2x6025 (just bought a 2nd one today) + wavebox nano. plus my return is an aquabee 5000.

-
omg... that's yucky... how do you do your maintenance work?

I went to AM TK during lunch... was told their stock arriving at 3pm! Guess what, they have pro-colour for 3' and 4'... just suay suay dun have 2'! Talk about luck! today just rotten luck for me. Wah and ah siang always give me good recommendation! i am also looking giessmann ones. okie... set liao... will go RD one day.

i've got that clip into my computer already. Just dunno if they accept all formats ... I think i'll do that tonight! woo hoo. Thanks Ah Siang.

Amazing tank(s) and fish. love your pipefish! can share where you bought them and how much? Thought of getting them for someone...

thanks bro, i actually have a video clip of my own... coz i bought the wavebox already. it doesn't look fake at all... the wave is real... i get that too. could be higher waves if i turn to higher voltage.

im very glad the pinkies already got a small market. Will try to frag it once the zoas stabilises.
-
bro, a few months back already, honestly can't remember le. there are actually 3 mushies in the rock too. (but the mushies are nothing to shout about, think it's some dark purple or brown ones)
-
ur eyes very sharp. yes, that's probably the only other possible frag for the pink zoas... estimated about 12 polyps. (but it's a little difficult to frag currently, coz the rock is very hard, need to chisel it off). Thing is, i never really frag zoas for sale before... dunno the market price leh. Better to 'exchange' for other rare zoas... you think?
-
yeah... im planning to buy both from the same place. But i can't believe a small package of calibration fluid costs $8 bucks! this type is used once and throw away type right? btw, can PM me how much is the pH down (just in case i kena 'carrot head')
-
hmm... okie... will do that later tonight. but for now, guess i'll try to use the pH down. bro dnsfpl: this pH down thing is readily available at LFS yah?
-
wah! you basically confirmed my readings bro! Alpheus + tropic marin (pro-reef) = pH 8.8-9!!!! in ur opinion, do i need to buffer it lower? i suspect that this is the element causing me to lose my true octo! (very sad sia... i paid so much for it!)
-
hi ming, u meant this? if u believe me, these are actually hitch hikers. I bought the rock (about 9 months back) coz the maneaters look red with luminous green mouth. Lo and behold, found some really nice zoas in them. Good thing is that they are slowly growing in numbers. When they're ready for frags, i will surely call u. the skirt is fully yellow in colour. (apologies for my bluish photos). and the ring... ermm... i think it's also yellow in colour (let me go back and double-confirm tonight). the face is black/dark purple in colour. Actually, the fully yellow coloured one is nicer. but only 2 polyps. Do you have any tricks to let zoas propagate faster??
-
dude, i think what he meant is the 15-pin VGA cable. (the typical VGA cable). But i believe u'll need a male-to-male cable. (so dun buy wrong one). for audio, i think the newer laptops come with surround sound output thru some new port (can't remember what's the name), if you're using a superb soundcard, you can use that output to connect to your amp.
-
hmm... maybe this explains it! coz im using Alpheus too! will go back and confirm it tonight.

i recently did a rescape + 100% water change. (basically restarting the tank). afterwhich, i bought a true-octo which is not opening well, and GSP also didn't really open. My light and waterflow is pretty decent now... so i suspect something is missing. calcium, magnesium, po4 all okie. so i suspect it's pH. t-loan a pH pen (not properly calibrated), but from some 'estimation' i realised my tank is higher than normal. My friend's tank is operating well (everything opens nicely), and he brought me some water to 'calibrate'. my pH pen measurement reads: 7.1 on his tank (which = 8.1-8.3 actual reading) And my tank reads: 7.8, which probably means 8.8-9 actual reading! that's very high le. Just wondering will those pH buffer powder lower the pH? or raise it?

gosh, that's quite some prata really! was told they are happier on sandbed, but i guess for your case, the prata is good anywhere. haha. the red ring zoas... u mean that piece that has only 5-7 polyps left? if it is, i really regretted not fragging before i left my tank in limbo for 8 months. Fortunately still has 5-7 polyps, still can try to salvage with some TLC...
-
Hi people, my pH reading is close to 9!!! Can anyone recommend something that can gradually bring down my pH to the desired level of 8.3? Gosh, now i know why my true octo and GSP are not opening. More importantly, how do i stabilise it at that level? TIA.
-
WOAH!!!!!! that's quite a PRATA! that's like 1 footer size or what?!? amazing zoas collection too! guess no need to ask for exchange of frags with ya... you probably have almost everything. will keep a lookout for your sales...

hmm... i've not tried the HDMI cable b4, coz i'm using component cables to hook up DVD player to TV and optical cable for audio from DVD to Amp. So never used HDMI. maybe can try hardwarezone forum, the real A/V gurus are there...

TV refresh rates varies... typically around 60+ or 70+hz. Some can go up to 100Hz. You can't really change the TV refresh rate, just try to play around with your PC (or laptop). Depending on your OS, it could have different instructions. (the how to change part, i'm not exactly a guru liao... i used to play ard with A/V stuff previously). You may wanna try to lower your PC output resolution, that usually solves the problem. For me, i didn't use the HDMI cable, i use the normal 15-pin video cable (which works quite well) to connect my laptop to my HDTV.
