Shall I say I like them thick and bushy...?
-
Hahaha... I already assumed its 8mm, but still, its very thick to cut using the acrylic cutter! You must be good at digging trenches... hehehe... Time to switch LEDs, bro! As long as you can achieve 6500K spectrum, it should be easy to grow. I'm still trying to find time to build an ATS using the nano-glo.
-
Haha... I think its pretty good growth, but I don't have a good grasp of the growth rate. Right now after harvesting, it approx. fills 3/4s of a small scoop bucket (the type that some folks use to gurgle after brushing their teeth), so I'll check after a week or 2. Just shaved my glass too, so should be pretty good light penetration.

Check out my ghetto holding tank! Still trying to fix the problems that caused my rics to melt, but couldn't resist the recent Iwarna shipment, so decided to set up a holding tank. Bought a small plastic breeder tank (I was looking high and low for a nice acrylic box, ie. MUJI style, but couldn't find one, so had to make do), a HOB filter (the smallest I could find), some filter wool for mechanical filtration, biohomme from my tank, and Ice-Probe for cooling when the AC is off. I've placed it just beside the main tank to share the lights, yet its not too strong. Using NSW from Iwarna. So far, the rics are doing fine and expanding.

Some updates on my cheato growth with the JBJ Nano-Glo LEDs. I usually keep enough for it to tumble in my fuge area, but I forgot to harvest. It grew so much that it filled up the compartment, stopping it from tumbling with the water flow, and thus causing 4 "burnt" marks on the cheato from the LEDs.

Your scape looks like A-O from the front! Very interesting... following to see how things turn out.
-
Your tank is looking amazing, bro! Great job!
-
Freely receive, freely give!
-
All reserved.
-
2 tubs left!
-
Hmmm... hope this is just temporary till your main tank comes in, because its too small for 3 fishes in there. Also, your tank is not cycled... best option is to take it back to the LFS which you bought it from to hold it for you till you complete the ANN cycle, or do plenty of water changes (daily if possible).

Looks like the "ferrari" of lights!
-
Tiny tank, but HUGE photos! Do try to resize your photos before posting to help everyone to view them with ease. Is this your first time keeping a marine tank?
-
Very nice carpets, joe!

I'll be trying out the following combo: ATI Blue+ UVL Indigo Sun ATI Blue+ ATI Blue+ UVL Indigo Sun ATI Blue+ Front glass UVL Indigo Sun has a slight pinkish tint to it, so it produces a "warmer" colour, and not so wash out like ATI Aquablue Special. Still considering if I should swap out one Blue+ for a Fiji Purple.

I thought when I was there at Aquarama '09, the Dymax representatives told me that they might make it an option for such changes? Hmmmm... I guess it didn't take off...
-
Yes yes! Join in the DIY fun! I enjoy this hobby immensely, not just on keeping a reef, but due to the unlimited possibilities on DIYing stuff and getting the "toys" for your tank!
-
Hahaha... that's freaking nuts! It would have been more efficient using a coping saw in your case.
-
Sweet! That's what I have in mind... a nice little setup beside the comp. Now that's another sexy idea! We are spoilt for choice!

Come to think of it, I could use one of these for a CRS tank!
