  1. Not a must to cycle with the skimmer, so you can proceed with cycling. Don't need to extend your waiting time, ya'know?
  2. Wow... looks like a massive project is in the works! Will be camping here for updates.
  3. It is good to be disciplined to stick to a low bioload. Most of us (me included ) could not resist the lure of adding more fish, so kudos to you. What is the temperature that you can achieve with the Dymax fan when the lights are on?
  4. Is that filter wool? If it is, you are performing mechanical filtration, not algae scrubbing. I think you need a plastic mesh with a roughen surface instead. Check out Daiso, they do sell A4 sized black plastic mesh for potted plants.
  5. PM garyjg. He can hook you up on a good RO/DI system.
  6. Looking for an excuse to own an ADA tank... :oP

Life is short. Go get what you like as long as its within your means.

  7. If you swap an Aquablue Special with a Blue+, you will get a wider spectrum. There's a guy from Nano-reef that tried a 50/50 combo (3x ATI Blue+ and 3x ATI Purple+) with very interesting results. I'm actually tempted to go that route. Another combo which seems like a safer choice would be 3x ATI Blue+ 1x UVL actinic, 1x ATI Aquablue Special, and 1x ATI Purple+.
  8. Initially, I thought I was looking at a top-down shot till I noticed the corals at the real bottom.
  9. The problem I have with dwarf angels is keeping them alive... they can be feeding and doing well for months, then die the next moment. Question: Do they need to go through de-worming or some form of treatment upon purchase?
  10. For some strange reason, I kinda like it... for now. The biggest rock is a little too white. From a live rock, dried to the bone to rid it of all the unwanted stuff, dumped in my home sump tank for many months to culture bacteria before using it in this nano.
  11. Pmed! Yes, I did leave my lights on during this cycling. I don't think diatoms are directly related to light, but more to it being new tank syndrome. It should go away once things a stable.
  12. Sweet idea on the lamp shades. Makes reefing more classy. Do give us a review on the Canon LEDs!
  13. If the length of your tank is 3ft, then you should go for 36" T5HO tubes (39W). I would suggest using 2x ATI Blue+ instead of 1white 1 blue combo. Check with Razali (Dr Evil) from DELightings.
  14. Into my 3rd week of cycling. Some pics to show the diatom growth. Dum Dum gets a few diatom pimples. Sand gets blown around and is covering the burrow. This will keep the pistol shrimp busy.
  15. Very interested, but my wallet cannot support this interest... then again, whoever that gets this pair is able to successfully breed and raise the fries...
  16. Candy Basslet Pair (Liopropoma carmabi) @ Diver's Den going for USD$1.8K.
  17. Diatoms are starting to show up. Cycling is progressing well. :o)

Lol... my shrimp "cooked" faster lah... with Bio Digest & Bio TIM. :o)

  18. You can consider supplementing the LEDs with T5s. Best of both worlds.
  19. Lol... towkay, your Canon LEDs are another power house leh!
  20. Dimensions? Depends on what you want to keep as well.
  21. Aiyo, you're probably the only reefer that uses AI LEDs locally, why do you still want Mazarra?
