  1. I'd love some striking pink shroom frags too! *takes a queue no.*
  2. Bananas and avocado...? They sure have a strange diet... and its not even natural, since you don't find them in the sea. I wonder what made the owners try such food?
  3. I see a damsel fish in there. Was there any chasing around before? Aggression could lead to stress and then...
  4. I dipped 2 zoa frags in Lugol's solution yesterday evening, and they are half opened today. I hope they are on the road to recovery. What should I do to buffer the Ph of the distilled water (for the dip) so as not to shock my corals? Do I have to dip everything in my tank to ensure that they are free from zoa eating pests? I've read that some reefers fight these things for a month or so. Makes me want to perform 100% treatment of all corals and rocks, but I fear it might be over-doing and killing what is good. Any advice?
  5. Solid equipment, bro! Need a better pic of the rics to appreciate their beauty though...
  6. Never tried it, but you may consider reading up and learning more about UV pumps.
  7. Great! You can start showing us the skimmate after adding in lifestock.
  8. PMed you on place and price. Pretty decent skimmer at a good price too!
  9. Yup... its gonna be expensive alright... Bro, spend the money on reliable test kits instead. It'll be a gauge to tell you if your tank is ready for lifestock. All the best!
  10. Sweet looking tank! Erm... thought you mentioned your tank is still at its cycling stage...? Adding rics so soon?
  11. Are those rics from Iwarna's shipment?
  12. Thank you for your compliments, Bro Terryz! Yes, the initial startup of the skimmer did produce many micro bubbles. I attached a filter sock to the water outlet with a cable tie to minimize the amount of bubbles. I do notice that after using the skimmer for awhile, there are hardly any bubbles from the water outlet, but I kept the sock on just to reduce the splashing and noise from cascading water (office tank, so noise would be a problem).
  13. Hi there! Thanks for your compliments! PMed you on the tank maker.
  14. You are posting this in the wrong thread. Why don't you post your enquiries in the general forum? More people can view and help answer them.
  15. Wow... the colours of the yuma was very striking in the first pic, and the clearer photo proved to be even better! Excellent bubbles and pratas too! Quite a collection you have here... care to share more about your tank husbandry?
  16. Thanks for the link, bro! Looks like we'll just have to try it out ourselves to see if it works.
  17. It should be the same... a hang-on type, right? Shouldn't have any problems using it in or out-sump. If you don't see any bubbles at all, it could be that your air intake is blocked (in your case, likely to be filled with water). The tube for the air intake on your pump should be fixed first before putting it in water. I made the same mistake when I did some pump maintenance. Hope it helps.
  18. Interesting... do you mind sharing some photos of this gex hang-on filter? I have the same concern about the surface of chaeto that is exposed to light. If the lights are fixed on top of the filter, only a small surface area is covered. Where do you plan to position your light source?
  19. Or if anyone has tried this method before but wasn't successful? Some feedback would be good.
  20. Pls pm me the price as well? Many thanks! Very nice tank, btw.
  21. The pump comes with the skimmer. If I'm not wrong, mine is 1200 l/hr.
  22. PMed you on the pricing. As for my tank, I think its approx. 63 litres? This includes the filter compartment, which is lower in volume.
