  1. What are the dimensions of the sump tank and price?
  2. Any advice on keeping the noise levels from the cascading waterfall to the minimum? If I plan to set one up in the office, I can't afford to have all that noise.
  3. Scrape it off with a unwanted plastic card or a razor blade if you're careful. Should do the trick.
  4. You're forgetting GO. Its just a 10 mins walk away from Serangoon MRT station.
  5. Just remember that reef keeping ISN'T a game! Once you've decided to get that said livestock, you should be responsible to make sure that its "home" (your tank) is suitable for it to live in, even BEFORE you buy it. Reef on, responsibly. I do not know what caused the tank crash, but these rocks take in all the crap. It is only reasonable to let it complete the ANN cycle again for stability. I'm sure you do not want to risk another tank crash, no? Why don't you remove all that stuff on the background since you're at the restarting stage? I don't know about you, but I like my tank to be as clean as possible. It doesn't look anything like coraline algae, so I don't see a purpose in keeping them. Just my opinion.
  6. This is probably the most untidy state of my tank... chaeto in the display... make-shift frag rack on the front glass... space is a problem with nanos. I was planning to keep my chaeto in a hang-on filter behind, but I've yet to modify it as such that it'll not cause too much splash noise. This photo is screaming "Upgrade!!!"... well, yea... soon soon...
  7. My chaeto growth has tripled in a month... you can imagine the amount of nutrients in my tank... Thanks to Law1210 for a healthy bunch!
  8. Added a fan recently, and have set up a digital timer. It'll come on when the office AC is off (8pm to 8am on weekdays, and 24 hrs on weekends). Checked the temp on monday to be around 28oC. I've also reduced the lighting periods to further reduce heat.
  9. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you'll have to wait till your tank is stabilized, pal!
  10. Consider it done, mdm! Just need to find a sweet spot where the chisel can come in.
  11. What do you mean...? While your tank is still going through re-cycling stage? I have just the picture for you:
  12. Oops... all the while I thought shrimps are more sensitive to water perimeter changes...? Or at least I could see immediate reactions from them if perimeters are off. I'm confused... Sounds evil, but I always thought blue damsels are great color indicators if things go wrong... they turn black.
  13. Funny... I was toying with the idea of propagating my rics when I saw this. Mind defining "raw"? I thought of adopting the "traditional" method of cutting the rics across the mouth and putting them in a small container with coral rubble till they attach. So it takes approximately 3 weeks for a full recovery on both halves?
  14. Have you tried keeping chaeto? I personally find it very effective in keeping nitrate and phosphate levels down, but mine is just a nano tank.
  15. Sigh... plans on office shifting will take awhile, so I transferred all my stuff back into my tank. In a way, its a good thing on all this shifting as I can do some housekeeping. DIYed a platform to raise all my power plugs and switches so they will never get wet again. I took out the entire sandbed this time and decided to go bare bottom to avoid rocks turning black again. I'm having more frags than actual colonies, so my tank is literally a frag tank now. It will stay this way till things are more finalized, and I can plan for upgrades if possible.
  16. I'm using FujiFilm S100fs. You can check out the reviews from AT's recommended site: FujiFilm S100fs So far I'm happy with it. Love the zoooooooooooommm...
  17. You can start by resizing your photos smaller so that it doesn't take so long to load your page... Since you are back at cycling, you have plenty of time to source for equipment. Just make sure that your tank is properly cycled this time before adding any life stock in. And I mean 0 ammonia 0 nitrites, which also indicates you need to get reliable test kits. Salifert is reputed to be most reliable, so go ahead and make those AM folks happy. Once your tank is ready (complete ANN cycle), add your life stock, SLOWLY. The key to successful reef keeping is lots of patience and lots of love for your life stock. I'm not sure about the space constraints of an RSM, so other people who own one might be in a better position to help you select a skimmer. I think someone is trying to sell Tunze Nano skimmer 9002, you might wanna find out more.
  18. Nice and simple setup... can be used as a frag tank. Maintaining the temp is going to be challenging though... I love your clowns...
  19. I had the same problem too before... left with only 1 common clownfish. If it were to be water perimeters, I'm sure your shrimps will be first to go? Mine was a case of short circuit on one of my pumps, so you might wanna double check on your equipment again. It was still running when I was back to the office on monday, but the burnt smell gave it away.
