  1. Hey... I think your 3rd rock scape is the best. Looking forward to your updates!
  2. If I ever keep suns, I don't mind dedicating a hydor nano to them.
  3. Nice! How's the yellow skirt, yellow ring doing?
  4. That's fast! Pauline, hover around the pasar malam more often so that you can chance upon good deals like this.
  5. Hohoho... someone's really addicted now... Hold your horses... take it nice and slow. Better for your tank and your wallet!
  6. Hey... no I don't mind at all. Pls feel free to give your honest feedback. This is actually a temporary scaping. I'm still in the planning stage of an upgrade, so I left it as it is after the thorough cleaning. I've seen the video on aquascaping posted not very long ago, and I'll be planning to do something similar to one of the featured aquascapes.
  7. Fun shot, bottom up. Not very clear on the reflections though...
  8. Top down shot of Sunflowers in actinic. The skirting seems to have turned from green to yellow. One of my favourites, but not much growth on them.
  9. This is one of my tiniest zoa frags. It didn't do well when I first brought it home from a LFS, and was constantly attacked by algae. I had to brush them off lightly, but now only 3 polyps survived. They are finally opening up slowly. Hope they can grow more. It looks much more striking orange in-person.
  10. Day 3 of my nano scrubber. I can see some brownish stuff on it now...
  11. Oh... was it taken from your tank? Whenever I come across nice photos of corals / fishes / tanks, I would save it in my PC for reference. Hope you don't mind...
  12. Hahaha... if you can get past my security guards first... Office nano... I can only post pics, but unable to invite anyone to view in person.
  13. Clearing space for more corals? Upz for you!
  14. Erm... I'm equally guilty of not using gloves when I handle zoas, but I would like to give a gentle reminder that zoas contain toxins that can be fatal to us. Pls read this link. Try as much as possible not to have direct contact with zoas.
  15. Bro, my tank is beauty from far, far from beauty... when you see it in person, you'll know it has plenty of room for improvement. Pauline, since yours is a nano, you might wanna request for mods to transfer your thread to the nano section? Btw, what do you keep in your hang-on filter?
  16. I get them from the LFSs and fellow reefers, just like everybody else. The 2 places that I frequent more often are Iwarna and GO (convenience is a major factor for me... one is near my home, and the other, near my work place ). I guess its also the choice that you make? I make it a general rule of the thumb to buy stuff that I really really like, and not at the spur of a moment. I buy corals that I want to look and look, over and over again without getting tired of them. Another major factor is, better corals are very often more expensive. Strike a balance between how much you want it vs how much you're willing to pay for it, and that will shape your reef. Hope this helps.
  17. You can check out RC's past winners for nTOTM contest. It is very inspiring, and it helps to spur you on that it is possible to create a beautiful reef in a nano tank.
  18. All the while I thought the Redsea Prizm was a lot more compact, but it seems pretty huge on your 1.5 ft tank. How's the skimmer's performance? Any close up photos of the skimmate?
  19. Haha... I know what you mean. Its the same for me with corals. I have to do a reality check every once in awhile to remind myself there's no more room in my tank. Somehow, I always manage to find a little corner, a little space...
  20. It was around 26 to 28oC, no ventilation with lights on. Pretty effective for a small tank, IMO, but the evaporation is a killer. Since its in your bedroom, noise is a valid factor to consider. Could have started rusting inside after the dip.
  21. I bought this some time back, so I can't really remember how much it was. Prolly slightly more than 2 red notes?
  22. Nice buy on the blue zoas! Let me know if you plan to frag it.
  23. Nice... I'd love to keep a pair myself, but I can't get over the hassle of feeding them starfishes. If only someone can develop starfish pellets...
  24. Bro, mine is very silent. You might wanna give it a thorough check to see if anything is loose that is causing the noise? Put a bit of lubricant (WD40 works well), but be careful not to let it drip into the tank. Computer fans won't be of much help, been there, done that, bought the T-shirt...
