  1. Hahaha... I didn't mention anything about my clowns killing the yellow wrasse, but the pair of clownfish are definitely the dominant ones in the tank. Do note that mine's a small nano, and they are the first fishes to claim territory.
  2. In my quest I found 2 tiny crabs hidden in a frag rock! Smaller than a 5 cents coin.
  3. Is this some kind of fungus? It smelled bad and I had to throw it away. Another different frag had a few infected polyps, and I had to cannibalize them by cutting and removing them by the zoa mat. Now the rest of the polyps are opening healthily. I guess its too late when it reaches the stage as shown below...
  4. Anyone bought any unique rics from Iwarna? Or the Caribbean blue zoas? Pls share photos~
  5. This is almost exactly what I have in mind for my next tank, except for the Starphire glass (mine would be all round crystal glass). Looking forward to your updates!
  6. Bro, I did bought one, but it died a week later. My clowns are the bullies though...
  7. Hahaha... I know what you mean. That's why I asked for an alternative solution, and you have kindly provided one.
  8. I like the Dymax IQ3... and at a very good price too!
  9. Haha... thanks for bringing me back to earth! I didn't mention I lost the instructions, so my current dosing is purely on estimate. As stated by Bro LYK, its quite difficult to deal with nudis when they can dwell in live rocks and comes out when the lights are off (I can see mine roaming openly even with lights on though...), so it is very tedious to pick every rock out to dip them. Is your dosing amount similar to the instructions? Mind posting the recommended dosage?
  10. Its more business than game nowadays, so no surprise.
  11. This is the price to pay for keeping zoas... sigh... Still my favorite coral though, so not giving up on them anytime soon.
  12. You can give the Flatworm Exit method a try... I plan to add that to the main tank after another round of dipping with Lugol's solution to kill off whatever's left.
  13. Bro, I experimented on a zoa frag with nudis (yes, they were visibly, happily feeding on my beloved zoas ), took it out with some tank water and added 3 drops of Salifert's Flatworm Exit. It does kill the nudis within minutes~ However, I had to manually pick them out with a pair of tweezers as they do not "jump" out unlike using freshwater, Lugol's solution dip.
  14. Just a side track, but I would really love to have these...
  15. Bro, sorry to hear about your lost. I think I've read somewhere that some reefers install temperature trip system whereby when things get too hot, it switches off the lights and a set of fans will switch on to cool things down in case the chiller breaks down. You might wanna consider this option. Don't give up and come back even stronger!
  16. Bro, mind describing your broypsis problem and how you resolved it? I suspect I face the same problem too.
  17. Hmmm... looks like its worth a try. What's the recommended dosage for a 18" x 18" x 12" IOS nano?
  18. Hahaha... That's interesting! I didn't know that.
  19. I'm not sure about that because I've never seen them in my tank. Definitely nudis will top the list of zoas pests in terms of propagation...
  20. Sigh... that's the price to pay for keeping zoas... lots of pests to handle. I'm currently still battling nudis myself.
  21. Some photos of sundial snails, courtesy of zoaID.com. It shows various types, some with pattern and some not. Perhaps yours is another variation of sundial snail...?
  22. That's interesting... but when you talk about cleaning, what type of water would you recommend? I've used distilled water with Lugol's solution and Salifert Flatworm Exit mix to perform my dips, but never with a brush. I only use a paint brush to clear algae.
  23. Maybe mine was not a healthy specimen to begin with... I'll definitely give it a try again.
