  2. I was actually quite pissed with it as it messed up my sand bed and covered my corals with sand. Yours might just be a different case though. It'll be interesting to see them spawn. Keep us posted!
  3. I thought that is a common behavior among damsels, as in using their tails to create a small bare bottom patch? The damsel I've kept long time ago did the same, and it was the only damsel in the tank.
  4. A little , but I thought this was pretty cool... Nikon Coolpix S1000pj, the world's first camera with a built-in digital projector.
  5. Would like to learn how to take good shots of fishes, especially when they swim quite fast. Shutter priority setting on my cam sucks...
  6. Hahaha... mine's like this, with the side jutting out of the tank perimeters. That's why I mentioned the aesthetics part. I'm also interested in your sessions for the DIY LED lighting, but the location is too far for me. Will be looking forward to your updates!
  7. Your tank looks really good now. Its great to hear that your mom is starting to admire your tank.
  8. If you are not too concerned about aesthetics, you can consider T5 HOs that come in 2 Ft sizes. Otherwise, LEDs would be the best (comes with a huge price tag though... ). You could also try FLs that come in 1.5 ft length @ 24W. Try Petmart if you're interested, but do give them a call first to see if there is stock available. Depending on what type of corals you plan to keep, lighting will play a crucial part to their health and survival.
  9. It sounded like blue tangs were zombies... hehehe... Beautiful tank and photos, mr_xxx, as always!
  10. Bro, have you leak tested your tank? I've read somewhere about reefers checking the workmanship of their acrylic tanks by looking for bubbles within the joints. As mentioned in a previous thread before you bought the tank, I'm a little concerned about warping, as yours is 8mm thick. You might wanna be careful about hanging heavy equipment on the tank... Btw, what is the output of your light set? T5 HOs come in minimum 2 ft length, so yours might be low output. Unless yours is FL.
  11. If I had read correctly, it should come with 3 probes instead. I would have chosen DE if I had known earlier... now I'm stuck with JBJ ATO that comes with only 2 float switches. Quote from the site: This was important for me as my reservoir is rather small. For my case, space is limited.
  12. Can't wait for the MP10 to be in action...
  13. She used to be one of my favorite Japanese stars... sigh... image gone down the drain.
  14. Do update us on the effectiveness of the tux! Very nice fishes, bro! A little ex though...
  15. This was his previous tank. Definitely needed the upgrade.
  16. Unfortunately, not all of them are doing well... based on personal experience, I found that certain zoas like strong lighting, while most prefer less. Growth wise, I found mine to be rather slow, so that's the reason why I'm considering a switch. Read that the 14k bulb is "blue" enough on its own, so it ok without supplementary actinic lighting. What's your opinion on this?
