  1. My point is simple: if you are willing to help, by all means post a solution to the question. Since when did the responsibility fall only onto others, esp the moderators, and not on you, if you know the answer to a question from a newbie, but refuse to post? This forum is like a community, and in order to make it work, it takes everyone's contribution, big or small. Unless you have a double nick or something, why don't you start to contribute more to this community, instead of starting a thread of displeasure after your first post in 6 years?
  2. Hi spirit, do you know where GO is?
  3. Wow! Looks like LEDs are really the way to go!
  4. Bro, I think you quoted the wrong guy lah... should be bro jameshong. That's why it was confusing. You made me happy for a moment...
  5. You can also consider crystal glass. No difference in colour of corals, just better clarity and less distortion. Mine used to be normal glass 8mm thick, but my current crystal glass is 10mm thick and appears to be much clearer. Loving it.

  7. Oh my... that's a lot of equipment on top of your tank! How is it being supported? If everything is depending on your tank, your glass will not be able to withstand the pressure. As for the skimmer, you have to add hoses or pipes. Do you have a hang-on filter, or at least seen one before? The concept is the same. The tube should be your air in-take.
  8. HOB = Hang-on-back If you can twist the inlet that is connected to the pump 180o upwards, connect a pipe or hose and create a inverted U to your IOS. As for your outlet, fit 2 elbows so that it points downwards. How you want to keep the entire skimmer body at the height is up to you. Just make sure its secure and don't end up crashing to the floor!
  9. I don't think they are paid that much...? That's like less than 10 mins performance.
  10. I used to keep winter whites & roborovskis as well, and my mum would be very displeased as the smell would turn her off. She doesn't like rodents of any sort to begin with... Your girl is very fortunate. She ought to know that.
  11. Should be able to modify it as a HOB with your pump in the IOS compartment, just that with the added pipes or hoses your skimmer efficiency will be reduced.
  12. No worries... its best to get something that is of use to you. No point in impulse buying and regretting it later. Cheers!
  13. Hehe... I like your space looking hamster home. How are you managing in keeping the smell in check? There are so many small openings to clean. Wouldn't it be difficult when it comes to maintenance?
  14. I thought I heard 200+ lbs force? It literally over scaled the 100 lbs load cell. Very fascinating. Thanks for sharing!
  15. ATO and dead rocks collected! Zoas are reserved. Left with Hydor Flo Deflector~
  16. Its brand new, have not touched water. I bought an extra, so decided to sell it. Sms your contact if you're interested.
  17. That's one of my worries too, but due to space constraints I don't have much choice. From the flow of my filter compartment, it should go through the return pump first before my skimmer pump (stacked on top), so hopefully the pods goes through to the main tank before it gets sucked into the skimmer pump. This will be changed once I upgrade my skimmer. I was actually planning to DIY one... still reading up on this.
  18. As you can see, the tube that leads from my return compartment to the skimmer is from my skimmer pump. I wanted the skimmer output to go through the filter wool for bubble reduction to the main tank. Fan for cooling the tank when the AC is off, and auto feeder. Lights for the cheato in the fuge. The pipe that leads to the bottom is for my ATO.
