  1. I used to keep one, thinking I have sufficient pods in my nano tank to sustain it, till I watch it grow thinner day by day and it died eventually. It lived for 2 months, and I had a fuge in my IOS with cheato too (pod cultivation area). So learning from experience (which isn't a good thing in this case), I wouldn't advice on keeping a mandarin unless you have a stable, continuous food source to sustain it (with the exception of pellet or mysis feeding ones), hence the reason for posting the feeding question to you. Here's a link from Nano-reef on keeping Mandarin fishes in a nano tank.
  2. What is your spotted mandarin feeding on?
  3. The shop in front of ah beng's have a few when I was there on sun.
  4. Or you could just change your HOB filter to one with a higher flow rate...
  5. Ah... is the resin you speak of reef safe? Frag plug material seems good, but I'm not sure if there's any place that sells this. I just watched Clash of the Titans. It was simple for me, and not too draggy, so I kinda enjoyed it.
  6. Bro, do take care of your back! Nano tanks can be very mis-leading... looks small, but super heavy. Looking forward to your new tank pics!
  7. Lol... very interesting "host"! On a side note, I'm actually looking for a non-reef-natural item to add to the tank after I've seen this:
  8. Ah beng's have a few electric blue legged hermits too. Kitzo have some nice rics.
  9. Sounds like they had too much vodka... Nice scaping! The top could have been a sweet spot for SPSes, and underneath, suns & supersuns, but I'm not sure if these interest you anymore...
  10. These pipe organs are really sweet... liken to flowers in a reef. What are their care requirements? Mind pming me the price?
  11. The dorsal fin on the last photo looks like the reflection of a clear blue sky on the shiny surface of a sports car... nice!
  12. Or you could sell it to reefers who are into vodka dosing...
  13. Do you have a Racoon Butterfly? Saw a few at Pinnacle last week. Kinda attracted to the black eye band...
  14. Impossible~ Makes me wanna restart everything...
  15. Hahah... I thought of the same thing too! Perhaps its just like the army concept? Trenches can be machine dug, but they still want you to dig your own, for the sake of training. For Lemon's case, more for experiencing the "hardship".
  16. Well... I'm Lemon's senior too! Good to see you back, bro! Glad that most of your stuff in your tank are doing fine. I'm not too sure about the borrowing of HP incident though... one of my friends happened to be that kind soul to lend a foreigner his mobile, and that fella happily chatted for 15 mins before returning the phone.
  17. Getting them to open is one thing, see them open full bloom, then close for 2 weeks, and open again, repeat a couple of weeks... now that's weird. Happened to mine before. Doing fine now.
  18. If I didn't read the whole thing, I thought you had given your phone a Coral RX dip...
  19. My star polyps had a hard time opening up too when I first bought them, but give it some time and it should blossom. As long as the stalks doesn't have stuff restricting polyp extension (ie. cobweb-like stuff - not a good sign, likely to be dying, algae - manually remove as much as you can, etc), they should be good.
  20. Oops... I need to rephrase: its an ugly dead worm among the carcasses. Anyways, if no worm found, that rules out the case.
  21. Bro, did you find any ugly worms like what Jameshong and I did? We experienced a similar event of fishes dying suddenly, yet corals surviving. Both of us found an ugly dead worm from all the carcasses. Still a mystery to us...
