SRC BBQ Gathering on 28th May 2010
peacemaker replied to Harlequinmania's topic in SRC Contest and prizes section
Should be able to join you guys... pls count me in. -
It can be used as an additional safety net should your main controller fail. Probably configured as such that when the temp exceeds a set limit, say 30oC, it will trigger your lights (generate the most heat?) to switch off and fans (back up for chiller) to switch on to cool the tank. Of course, it is just another equipment that could fail too, but worth the extra 100+ bucks to save the thousands spent, not forgetting the effort and time involved.

Any kind souls staying in the east can tompang some super suns from LCK, pls kindly PM me? Many thanks! -
Why don't you take some clear photos and post it here? It would better illustrate the conditions.
-
Hohoho... naughty naughty!
-
The pics are just to entice Lemon on the valleys he can build with 3ft width. I'm sure he'll find the sweet spot to place the rocks to create that kind of visual perspective.

-
Hahaha... kidding kidding... relax! Will meet you as planned.
-
The guru hath spoken...
-
Did you attach the files? A common problem... we usually browse for the photos, but forget to upload them.
-
Of course it is! Unless when you sold it to me it has hidden problems already...? My plus point is I can provide home delivery! Have to visit you again after all.
-
Why don't you continue with your nano? Very quiet in your nano tank thread... Its good to take a break. I find that this hobby can be very draining at times (time, energy and money!), so if the hobby or things related are starting be a burden/bother, its a good time to take the break. Fuel is absolutely right... come back with crystal glass tank! My tank needs some xenia pom poms! When can I visit you?
-
Hahaha... this is interesting, bro, but since I bought the MP10, I'll have to sell the 6025 you sold me the other time! Want it back? Give me a buzz...

Nah... nothing secretive. Still planning, not sure if I should go for it or not. My director came in to the office today, saw all the wires from my lights and vortech pump (I didn't do any cable management yet...) and commented that he should start making me pay for the electrical bills... -

Mine's a 1.5 Ft cube! With an extra 6" of filter compartment... its really small, I tell you! This will probably change soon... -
Ask the HDB guys to check on the grounding if its a persistent problem. Electricity cut due to lightning, leading to a tank crash is so arghhhh....

Well, addressing people in the right manner and tone is quite important. Whenever I address middle aged women, xiao jie, I usually get better service, discount, serving, etc. Got a pretty good discount (almost 50% off) for fishes once... and a comical reaction from a food stall lady: Me: Hello, xiao jie! I want less rice, eating here. Lady: (Lol) Aiyo! Aunty already, still call me xiao jie! *giggle giggle* Me: No lah! Still look young! Lady: *giggle giggle* I end up with a very big portion of food and at a good price. Note: Works with ladies only, but must deliver in the right way!

I was thinking of using thin acrylic sheets instead of the thick type shown in the pic. The problem lies with the acrylic rods. Using those air-line tubes will be more economical, but joining them together will be tricky.
-
Wouldn't it be more economical if we can bulk build this locally instead? It really is an acrylic sheet with a couple of strong magnets. Of course, we should include the acrylic frag plugs...
-
Bro, why don't you try contacting Iwarna or AM to see if they can house your livestock and corals for you while you are away? Should give you a peace of mind so you can enjoy your trip.
-
Hehehe... mine is FOC (not including the MagFloat)! Making use of re-cycled material!
-
Bro, already up and running! Just went directly for the purple mode (can't remember was it Reef Crest or Lagoon), didn't have time to mess with the other modes. Ah... very cool. I skipped reading the manual... so yea.
-
DIYed my own... nothing close to the workmanship of the above, plus I'm using the Magfloat, which is very bulky. If anyone knows where to buy strong magnets, pls kindly PM me?

Came across this frag rack that was posted in Nano-Reef (photos courtesy of schg) that is commercially available in US. I like it due to its slick look, and that it can be placed in the corner with stability.
