  2. Time to start a tank thread in the nano section...
  3. Bro, I second this. Just apply some vaseline on the fan guard to prolong it from getting rust.
  4. Evaporation is unavoidable. If you are using a fan to cool the water, it adds to the rate of evaporation. Getting a reliable auto top off system will help to keep the salinity level constant by topping up fresh water whenever the water level in the tank drops. Topping up evaporated water and water changes are two separate things. You top up fresh water to replace evaporated water. You perform a water change with fresh salt water to keep your nutrients in check as well as replace minerals.
  5. Mine is miserable lah... so many casualties. Need to restart collection.
  6. Pods should not be considered as a problem... it is beneficial to the reef as a food source to smaller fishes, and they do feed on algae. If you plan to buy a mandarin fish, pls be prepared to continue to provide it with sufficient pods to feed on, or train it to feed on prepared food such as frozen mysis. They are capable of wiping out a tank load of pods within a short period of time, and would obviously starve to death if no food source is available.
  7. Something is bugging you to go for a refreshing change. I say go for SPS. Keep those fishes that you really really want and sell the rest.
  8. Weekly dose of "三杯酒" = happy reef :o)

  10. Yea, I know... sometimes the hectic lifestyle can get to us. However, I believe that a little contribution now and then is more beneficial to the forum than simply saying it is quiet, or not as buzzing with activity as before, etc. If everyone chime in once in awhile, it'll make the forum a better place. No offense intended, hope none is taken. Cheers!
  11. Yo... that was the office tank. I still have mine back at home. Not exactly a reef tank, more like a glass box keeping frags, so no updates. I have some plans in the works, so will update once they become concrete.
  12. Take your time, no worries. I'm just curious... would definitely appreciate a tutorial.
  13. Guys, care to share a little more on how to differentiate these flasher wrasses? To the untrained eye (like mine), it just looks like a regular wrasse to me.
  14. Why don't you come back to the reefing scene to spruce things up? Start a tank thread, update regularly, get involved with other reefers' setup... should be fun.
  15. Petmart sells them too. Also available in black.
  16. On a different perspective, being a conductor and a violin teacher gets a big pay check... those are top notch equipment.
  17. Bro, you must be addicted to those nippies... I'm sure your clowns are spoiled for choice.
  18. Thank you... fish reserved and pending collection tmr.
  19. This is a very good buy, pls grab while stock lasts! Dang bro... 2 inches... Lesson learn, plan your sump with more space allowance for upgrade possibilities.
